Thinking of the thread earlier in the week I am teaching tomorrow in a leapard print dress and patent heels.

Have you chosen that outfit for any particular reason or are you generally a trendy teacher?

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:02

I am a very trendy teacher.

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:03

I don't know what the thread was about but I will also be teaching later in the week. There will be at least one lesson on Christianity and I DEFINITELY WON'T be wearing a leopard print dress or patent heels AS IF!!

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:04

It will hold their attention!

bahcornsilk · 30/11/2008 19:05

Is it Bet Lynch-like?

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:05

And I am seeing the head about a new job.

OP posts:
twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:06

No it is a wrap dress and a very small print.

bahcornsilk · 30/11/2008 19:06

Tell us about the shoes!

janeite · 30/11/2008 19:07

I knew this would be you Twinset!

I wore my raspberry coloured crochet tights the following day and whilst I got many compliments I kept thinking, oh dear, am I corrupting young minds here then?!

What's the new job?

shinyshoes · 30/11/2008 19:08

It sounds very chic, the teachers in my school wear combats or black trousers (me)

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:08

Black patent heels with a diaganol strap across the front of the foot.

I do have some leapard print heels but thought there is nothing worse than clashing prints

I am a teacher and I usually pick my Monday outfit based on warmth. The school is freezing on a Monday - so it is thermal tights and warm jumpers for me.

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:09

lol Janeiti I love my raspberry tights.

Te job is about promoting the school and using displays to promote achievement. Very visual and arty so a bland outfit would not do.

What tights? I am a very boring dresser in school. I would like to glam up a bit.

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:11

amerry I have welllies under my desk for when I have to trapse up to main school they are ......leapard print. I also have some slippers under my table for when the heels become to much hard work , they are ......leapard print with pink bows.

Stayfrosty there was a thread complaining about a teacher or even a head wearing fishnet tights and patent shoes. I opened it nervously incase it was about me.

OP posts:
twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:15

here is the thread

OP posts:
bahcornsilk · 30/11/2008 19:15

LOL! What was the complaint then? Are patents and fishnets allowed by the mumsnet jury?

janeite · 30/11/2008 19:16

Ooh the job sounds great - is it a promotion within your current school?

I'm out on a course tomorrow - INSET but not in our school. Really feel like going all "Gothed up" and sitting at the back drawing skulls - can't muster up any enthusiasm for it at all. In reality I will probably wear jeans, a silk shirt and my demon-heeled wine coloured boots.

twinsetandpearls · 30/11/2008 19:17

yes within my school not sure if I will get it as I am brand new to the school and almost everyone is applying for one of the three posts on offer,
