Yurtgirl · 28/11/2008 21:29

I am in desperate need of shoes/boots that are seriously comfortable, that will last etc.

I walk four miles every day!

What does the voice of mumsnet think about Docs?

All opinions and alternatives welcome

15 years - Wow

I wore my previous pair every day for three years and wore them out!

Hence new pair

My current shoes were £12.99 from shoezone - they hurt Foolish waste of money, although they were comfy for two weeks

Madam Ant - how wide are the calves on those ?

They are gorge

MamaMaiasaura · 28/11/2008 23:01

I used to wear them all the time, with everything including when i was a choirgirl and altar girl twith my robes I dont wear them now though and have opted for Rocket Dog boots which are zip up (so dont have to faff with laces - though i did have a red pair of zip up dm's they looked like wellys) and the rockdogs are furry warm .

That said i miss my old dm's but in a fond old memory kind of way.

Yurtgirl · 28/11/2008 23:07

Awen - I have never heard of rocket dog before - I love the nokout boothere

Fab - but are they truly hardwearing and comfy, esp as they are more £££ than Docs

MamaMaiasaura · 28/11/2008 23:09

i got these www.amazon.co.uk/Rocket-Dog-Womens-Slope-Black/dp/B0019XWRQW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=122791 3687&sr=1-1 in tribal brown but they were about £50 when i got them. Amazon is fab for bargains.

fishie · 28/11/2008 23:10

Awen - Yours look like seude, how does that cope with rain? I get very very wet on a regular basis! hence not too keen on seude

brimfull · 29/11/2008 12:07

i like blundstones

BikeRunSki · 29/11/2008 19:13

I have the same DM boots as MadamAnt in brown and red. They are both on their third winter and going strong. I love them! They are warm, comfortable and hardwearing. I have huge calves (42 cm) and they fit fine. I also have very wide feet, and they still fit fine!

I also have a pair of Blundstones, like ggirl too - have been wearing these for about 15 years (on my third pair, much cheaper if you can get someone to send them to you from Oz/NZ). The Chelsea boots are so easy to pull on and off. Smart enough for work under trousers, casual enough for jeans. Love 'em. Also good for wide feet.

belgo · 29/11/2008 19:15

I also have a pair if purple DM's, had them for about 12 years, barely wear them now.

plantsitter · 29/11/2008 19:19

I love DMs but make sure you get the ones with proper grippy bottoms unless you like spending a lot of time on your own bottom when it's icy!
