How do I do a pedicure at home?

So I've just got back from holiday and had a wonderful pedicure. She removed all my grotty hard skin, smoothed my feet, shaped my nails, painted them a very lovely fuchsia colour and my feet now look lovely for the first time in years. And I'd quite like to keep them that way but can't really justify the cost given credit crunch, being on mat leave so no money coming in etc.

So I'm looking for tips on a DIY pedicure - what equipment do I need? what are good products? what is the best nail varnish etc? and what exactly should i do and how often?

Ta!

Soak feet.
Use a pumice or foot file to scrub them.
Flexitol - essential - then put socks on and let it sink in.
Can't help with nail polish as I always use cheapo stuff.

I do this every fortnight or monthly at least.

Oh its quite easy you just need some child free time!

here are step by step instructions

I find the best varnishes are Revlon, OPI & Virgin Vie.
