Shaving - before or after fake tan

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/11/2008 21:09

I'm having a fake tan applied tomorrow afternoon (St Tropez) and need to shave/immac my armpits and legs sometime before Saturday.

Do you think I should shave tomorrow morning or leave it until Friday/Saturday morning ?

I think I've seen somewhere that you're not supposed to shave either 24 hours before or after a fake tan, but I can't remember which it is Confused

Please help !

yes - Saturday is the big day

Thanks - so I either risk flaring (? presumably being sore/red) if I do it before or some of the tan coming off if I do it after ??

I reckon after then ... No one is going to see my legs and like you say, my pits probably won't be getting tanned. Don't want to risk sore legs

Thank you very much I knew you were the one to help !

Hi i do st tropez tans on clients and the general rule is 24 hours prior, any less then the tan gets into pores and clogs them.....

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/11/2008 21:29

Sorry one last question .... Would shaving or immac be better or would they both be the same ? (in terms of tan reducing effects).

In terms of cooling gel - I've got some aloe vera stuff - would that be ok..?

Sorry ! I realise that's two questions

barbie waves back! im a newbie, well a few months...find me on the mc thread if you have anymore questions oh and good luck for sat! ps dont use any products fruit based after tanning, natural exfoliant and will ruin your tan!

barbie1 · 26/11/2008 21:45

oh and one last thing, dotn wash your hands after the tan, even after the loo! gross i know but it will make your hands not tan.....step away from the dishes! oh and dont wear a bra or sock, not for a good four hours, tie your hair back if its blonde as st tropez can make it green

barbie1 · 26/11/2008 21:47

Finally smile! even if you are patchy your teeth will look so much whiter again a tan!

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/11/2008 21:52

Thanks - will definitely tie my hair back - could do without green hair on my wedding day

best thing to do is to leave, leave in conditoner in it, that way your hair gets a treatment and any tan will wash out as you wash your hair later...im so excited for you, i have just tanned and now i smell of biscuits

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/11/2008 22:07

Right will give it a go ! I'm going to look a right mess going to my last weight watcher meeting - orange, bra-less, greasy hair and smelling of biscuits

barbie1 · 26/11/2008 22:20

i hope all the people in your class dont crave biscuits after smelling you or you will be to blame for the extra lbs the week after!

OK tanning experts.... Any advice on getting it to fade more quickly ? Please ! Body is ok (browner than anticipated, but I can live with it), face however is awful. I look like I've got really bad jaundice. Its very orange .....seriously.....giving Jodie Marsh a run for her money orange...

Can I do anything to fade it before tomorrow ?? Will be eternally grateful if either of you can help

Thanks wats - I've got a smashbox primer but its not a purple one... will exfoliating bring it off a bit ? Will see what it looks like tomorrow and will exfoliate then if its still too dark
