Do you think expensive jeans make a difference?

I used to wear levis (501s) but over the years have switched to cheaper no brand jeans. Even the stretch ones tend to bag and fall down my hips.

The favourite of my current jeans are actually some black and pink stitching from Tesco.

Was thinking of trying levis again but wondered whether really it would be better to try to get some designer brands (prob from ebay as I am not that flush).

I like bootleg and sometimes boyfriend fit.

What do you think - it it worth paying more?

i saw this samson but it was busy.

I know someone who has got their jeans from the Bodymetrics at Selfridges and tbh they look nothing special!

widgypog · 25/11/2008 18:52

again that fuels my argument. it is all about the fit and I have found that you can get the by chance in any price range.

FeelingLucky · 25/11/2008 19:33

Tillyscoutsmum I bought my 7s from Selfridges and paid them to take them up for me. I'm not quite 4ft9inches tall! Anyway, they were perfect and not lost that boot cut look at all.

kalo12 · 25/11/2008 19:36

yes
worth the money

peacelily · 25/11/2008 20:05

yes def better value, I have a pair of 7s and 2 pairs of sass and bide that I've had for a few years all still going strong also have another pair from selfriges that cost £200 that everyone compliments me on. And a couple of diesel.

have tried topshop/Zara ended up going to chrity shop because of poor fit and baggy bum syndrome. jeans are the only clothes item i really splash out on cos when not in work i wear them nearly everyday.

7's are fab. Got mine from NYC so cheaper than uk.
3 years ago stillbfabby!
Also have next the skinny and they are great.
Have boden boyfriend which fit like a dream (30 leg hooray)
Got my 7's taken up professionally too

triffictits · 25/11/2008 22:42

Yes 7's are long - one of the reasons i like them!

I dont like the classic 7's tough - dont you all find them too low cut? If i bend over in them half my arse hangs out!

I have the high waisted ones (that are just normal waisted in reality!) - they are fab.

Tallbird · 26/11/2008 10:31

Spare a thought for those with freakishly long legs - 7s are often not long enough for me (but definitely worth the money when they do have a long pair). At least if a pair of jeans are too long you have an option of doing something about it!
The quality of denim is definitely better in expensive jeans. Have some lovely pairs from Zara - but they feel a bit stiff when you compare then to a posh pair

RamblingRosa · 26/11/2008 10:45

Ditto Tallbird! That's exactly what I said further up in the thread I go for Zara and Topshop Tall.

angelene · 26/11/2008 10:46

I got 7's recently which are great, I got the highwaisted ones due to less than flat stomach . I only wear them when I'm not with dd though because I really don't want them to get mucky or wrecked. I got them taken up when I was buying them in Selfridges but they are wide leg ones anyway so haven't lost any of the cut.

I also got £15 Dotty P bootlegs which are also nice, high waisted. They are a bit too long but I haven't got around to getting them altered, and don't know when I will so these are my 'being a mum' jeans, with the bottoms turned up

Hogiabach · 26/11/2008 11:08

I love my 7ns, I have one everyday pair and one dark flared pair, they are so flattering, but I did have to get them taken up. I also have a lovely pair of Marc Jacobs and loads of Diesel jeans.

It's not about the price but more about the fit as I am very small frame. Well worth the money IMO

ladylush · 26/11/2008 12:10

I find Oasis jeans fit me well. But they do eventually wear out.

orangina · 26/11/2008 12:19

I bought both my 7s from koodos.com. About 1/2 price. Tried them on in John Lewis for size, then ordered online. They are fab, definitely worth the extra money. Wear them out in the evening, and do topshop for every day (though they can get v baggy...).

here

bluebump · 26/11/2008 20:48

I tend to buy New Looks Hula ones, what a bargain and they look fine.

Ripeberry · 26/11/2008 20:53

I'd rather get jeans from charity shops and customise them myself. Very exclusive!
