What do you think of this coat.........

Coat ???? Would you wear it if you were a 26yr old mum with a 2 yr old? I know I sound very ungreatful but my dad (but really his partner) said he wants to buy me a coat for christmas as I said I didn't have a warm everyday coat to wear-they told me to find one and he'd pay for it. I've been looking around and had trouble but found one i LOVE from Benetton at the weekend, but the buggers didn't have it in my size. Whilst i've been looking there have been some serious hints about this coat-BIG hints that this is the coat I should have. But its £400!!!!!!! How can i wear a coat that costs that much to toddler groups and the park??!!! Plus it looks lovely but maybe a tad old for me?
I don't know-i know it'll be amazing quality etc but it just feels wrong-am I bein stupid?

cremolafoam-just what i'm feeling-couldn't stand that kind of money going to waste on a coat i don't LOVE and want to wear all the time-it'd be a waste

If I do (and i think i will) decide against that coat how do i tell her without upsetting her? Bear in mind i already have tried on serevral occasions

I actually bought a john rocha one at the weekend which i like but then saw the benetton one -i will fall back on this one i think it was only £68 as opposed to the £400!!!!!

I'D FEEL MUCH SAFER IN THE M&S ONE!-Whoops sorry-blooming caps!

Wow that is an amazing coat!

Tried ringing them yesterday and no answer for ages then finally got hold of someone and they said they would transfer me and they cut me off!!! So my dad is up in london on weds and said he will go the the regent st store and try and sort it out......i just hope it is as nice as i remember it and also that they have it!!!!!

Jaeger one is too old for me and would make me feel 'wrong' wearing it-but she is really not taking no for an answer-to try another subtle tactic i sent him a amessage last night saying that if we couldn't sort the coat out then another idea would be a really nice leather bag (very cheeky i know-but thought that might help imply in another way that I don't want that coat!!!)

Any ideas on a nice bag?!!! Better have some suggestions if he does want to go down that route!

The Jaeger coat is an old lady's coat.

You can get something gorgeous and much funkier for £400 I am sure. Take a browse on the internet.

I would email them with lots of links of coats that you do like and let them surprise you.

BUGGER! My dad just rang-he went to Benetton and they don't have the coat but they did when they phoned yesterday but they wouldn't hold it Now i realise how much i like it and now i've got to try and stop them buying the Jaeger coat without offending anyone. PANTS. I want that coat -benetton are rubbish
