Help- need a good fitting strapless bra!

Hi,
The party season is nearly upon us and I am thinking of buying a strapless dress.
I have never worn one before so do I wear a bra or go braless?
I don't possess any strapless bras so where is a good place to buy one. It will probably need to be low fitting as the dress I have my eye on is quite low fitting.
Hope this makes sense.
Ps I am a 32/34D.

if you've got good boobs you might go braless if the dress is supportive enough. I've never found a good strapless bra but, then again, my boobs need a lot of help

Thanks Harpomarx,
Unfortunately my boobs are heading south and need as much support as they can get.
Will check out the dress again and see how supportive it is.

My boobs also need lots of help, and I wouldn't dream of buying a strapless bra without getting fitted.
You could even take the dress with you, just to be sure.
I've always found department stores best (NOT M&S), and go on a quiet weekday.
Walk out and find somewhere else if you're not 100% happy with what they're trying to sell you - it's not the shop you go to, it's the individual who serves you which counts (apart from M&S - DON'T GO THERE!)
My last strapless bra actually went down to the waist - can't remember the make, but it didn't do a bad job.

I'm a 32d and have got quite a few good strapless bras. The best kind are the moulded t-shirt bra kind even if you don't usually wear padded bras. Unpadded ones don't work at all IMO.
As Katsh says, go to a good dept store and try on loads. They really vary. Almost all of mine are a size smaller than I'd usually wear (ie. 32C). For some reason, without straps hoiking them skywards, boobs just don't fill out the bra in the same way IYSWIM.
I think some of the good brands I've had are fantasie (the padded, moulded one), Chantelle, Lejaby, and an Australian make called Bendon. I think you can get them all on Figleaves.com but probably best to go and try lots on.
Good luck!
