Purple and black

I've got a black wraparound dress which I'm planning to where at a xmas do. I have a purple shrug type cardie to wear with it. Will this be okay with some nice shoes and jewelry?

Having to be smart stresses me out and I'm basically clueless. Just want to know I'm not under / over-dressed!

High heels if you can bear it - are they black too ? Nude sheer tights are more dressy for evening. One statement piece of jewellery - a stunning necklace, cocktail ring or jingly bracelet - not all at the same time.

I've got black suede shoes with a round toe and small heel. Do you think nude sheer rather than black tights then? Have a bit of a hangup about my calves and don't want to emphasise them!

I certainly do have a nice collection of jewelry to choose from so i'll have no problems finding 1 nice thing to wear.
