GaspodTheWonderDog · 21/11/2008 19:46

Oh, I'll be watching too. Unfortunately have legs like tree trunks so can't do very short but back to Merlin...

LilRedWG · 22/11/2008 12:30

I remembered a black Jasper Conran halter-neck dress that I bought five years ago and only wore once. With my Spanx on it doesn't look too bad and DH loves it, so I'm going against all my original thoughts and wearing it.

Sorry for jumping ship and good luck in your search Merlin.

Merlin · 23/11/2008 17:53

Well, thanks all for the suggestions but none of them are really grabbing me!

Sorry - I must be super fussy!!!!!

I wore a new dress last night which everyone admired - floaty-ish short sleeves, bias cut so covered up a lot of sins (didn't even wear magic knickers!), mine was greeny turquoise and they also have it in red (and black)

Sainsbury's - £25

OllieWollieWoo · 23/11/2008 19:21

I like this one from M&S but not sure if its too shiney!

I'm the opposite and have been looking for the perfect little black dress - with sleeves - but not having much luck!

here

Merlin · 23/11/2008 19:35

Ooh Tommy - your one sounds ideal - is it online anywhere?

Ollie - quite like that one but puff sleeves and my arms do not mix!!!

OllieWollieWoo · 23/11/2008 19:44

What about a loose frilly sleeve - and in teal?

here

robinpud · 23/11/2008 19:47

I like that last one in red.. a bargain at £45 really. A top and trousers would cost far more.

I have got silver sparkly shoes ready for night out on Friday so far.. suppose I need bit more!

themoon66 · 23/11/2008 19:48

VERY tempted to get this for myself

TsarChasm · 23/11/2008 19:48

I like this

Purple

Blue

Tommy · 24/11/2008 14:42

it isn't online Merlin but it was in their little christmas catalogue/advert thingy. It was shaped a bit like a wrap dress with a v neck. A friend recommended it to me and I'm really glad she did!

Merlin · 24/11/2008 17:18

Tommy - I saw it briefly today as I ran past!! The turquoise colour is gorge - will have to go back and try it on. Thanks!!!

Can you not do sleeveless with a shrug? There are lots of pretty cropped cardis or shrugs around.

Have you looked at Boden? the have a couple of jersey dresses hat come in black but also purple and blue- i think.

What about Coast or Hobbs? haven't looked but they do loads of dresses, often with sleeves.
