Can anyne recommend a really good teeth whitening product which they have tried.
Preferably not from boots. I've tried them already.

The only thing that made a real difference to my teeth was going to the dentist and paying to get it professionaly done. It has made such a difference to me, I'd thoroughly recommend it.

I would second bandgeek. I went to the dentist and had a sort of gum shield made, you then fill this with peroxide gel and wear it over your teeth at night. It really works well. Downside is the cost though, it cost me about £250-300 a couple of years ago.

Can I just ask how long the whitening effect lasted? I am very interested in getting this done too.

I did mine at night - dentist type one - about 3 and a half years ago - I think I need them done again - they've gone a bit dingy again.

used2bthin · 20/11/2008 20:53

3 and a half years is not bad though, mine are horrible!

secure.fimweb.net/thesmileplace/order.asp The smile company - I used this - as good as a dentist but cheaper !

lilacclaire · 21/11/2008 14:55

Third the dentist !
Mine cost £150 though, but once you have used the pexoride off them, you can buy it cheaper on ebay as you've already got the gumshield thingys.
I just do mine once a fortnight now to keep them topped up.

Does it hurt or make teeth really sensitive? Also will they do it on teeth that are really bad, mine have got a at least one filling in nearly all of them!

lilacclaire · 21/11/2008 15:35

It makes my teeth a bit sensitive the next day and i only put the peroxide stuff on for the front teeth as the ones round the back are too sensitive. Don't really know about fillings, I just have 2 on the back teeth, but I think that it would be ok, ask your dentist.

used2bthin · 21/11/2008 21:27

Yes i think I will, hate my teeth so much and would love them to be sorted but its too expensive. Will look into whitening though thank you.
