Are shopping trolleys wrong?

My LO is 12 weeks old and when I have him in his his baby carrier I struggle to carry him with a change bag and my shopping, so... is "something like this" wrong?
I've never done a link before so forgive me if it hasn't worked.

I've used one since I was 19 and realised that carrying bags of shopping back 2 miles was a hand killer. Shopping trolleys are marvellous things.
I don't give a stuff what people say.
Plus, as credit crunching gets going and people drive less it was suddenly become trendy to walk to the shops with a trolley and you'll see magazine articles from those bubblehead types recommending the new trolley look

I used my mum's a couple of times last year before I had my baby, it was great but that was in ASDA. How about using it in the city centre, pulling it around Selfridges

I want one there are lots of funky designs now. Unfortunately dh and all of my mum friends have said they will disown me if I get one.

I shall just have to carry on breaking my back and being known as the mad lady who runs down the road chasing tins of tomatoes and swearing.

I want one with VW campervans on. But they won't let me.

Nezzi and Forever Optimistic - I can report that I have spotted (on separate occasions) 2 trendy young women on the 55 bus (Hoxton-Central London) with them. Unfortunately, these two were unassailably (even "ninja",) trendy, which means the trolley is still one of those things which separates those it encounters into a "for" and "against"; like the "before" and "after" haircut in the Mighty Boosh it's a fashion event.
For the timorous it still screams "no car" and "old and hopeless".
A shame, imo. We'll just have to wait for Gwyneth Paltrow to get one. And then we'll find they're sold out everywhere.

Who cares what it or you look like, as long as you can get shopping home pretty easy. I'd have one if I didn't have a blardy pushchair.

You can dress it up however you like girls, but it's an old lady trolley whatever you say.

i've got one like this

it used to be my nan's and i inherited it. I love it, so practical and I think of her every time i use it. I keep meaning to sew a fabric insert for it. I reckon if i use something like denim it'll take the edge off the "old lady" look...maybe!

My friend bought me one - like on WilyWombat's post - in funky pink flowery design. It's superb for nipping across the road and grabbing milk & potatoes - especially when I'm on a one-way road and taking the car is a 5 minute journey to same shop !!

My 5yr DS loves pulling it anyway !

There you go all we need is some mega trendy eco conscious star to start using one then we can ditch the car and wheel out our trolleys!

Oo! I like the Rolser ones, I'm sure I could pull off the "ninja" trendy look with one of those. I couldn't attemp one like Miamla's though, not very urban chic.
I think I'm going to have to get one, that way I can still carry DS, all his stuff & do my xmas shopping.
If people mock, then so be it!

I'm seeing more and more of them about in contemporary designs.
