This one from George Asda looks warm and cosy and has a hood, its long so may need to try it on to see how you feel in it, here

I'd go and have a look at zara, they have a million coats out at the moment, both "stylish" or sporty.

That Asda coat looks lovely and warm, I sometimes have to go out in the wee small hours on call, and in the colder months I want something like a duvet to put on.
That looks perfect and v good value
Will watch and steal your ideas lulumama

I went to see the coat in Asda today, and it didn't feel right, a bit thin and a bit too shiny
Have a look at the Lands End site, there were a few there which looked nice and warm

I searched high and low and ended up one from Debenhams which I love.
I am not sure how much is too much but this was around 40 pounds and its a bit nipped in at the waist so you appear to have shape and not look like a piece of furniture(and im a size 20). I cant find the coat on the website for some reason but they had a large range.

PLus there is 25% off at the moment.
