Yes, mineral make up is great stuff. I'm a total convert. Definitely go for one that actually just contains minerals (like Lily Lolo or Bare Escentuals). All the ones you can get in Superdrug (Revlon, L'oreal, Maybelline) are rubbish IMO and full of fragrance and preservatives and all sorts of muck that defeats the point of buying mineral make up!
Lily lolo good place to start as you can get tester pots quite cheaply.

Zazen - which colour blusher do you use? I bought one from lilylolo and it is really dark. (rosy apple) My biggest wish list would be to find a mineral version of my favourite Nars blusher in the colour Orgasm. Any ideas anyone?

Busy Bee, I tried that blusher too and thought it was quite scary and metallic. Have you checked out Jane Iredale? I think she has quite a lot of different shades. Also Laura Mercier does a pricy mineral make up range which might have nice blusher.

I used the quite cheap Maybelline mineral powder and am happy with it for the price. I have rosacea so good coverage makes it possible for me to leave the house without feeling as though I'm auditioning to be Santa Claus.

The beard doesn't help.

Busybee - it's called Rosebud Blush,it's quite light and I brush it over a few times till I get the colour I want.

It has the properties your fav Nars one boasts too I do indeed look like I've just been naughty - a fine healthy glow!

I bought some No 7 Mineral stuff yesterday to have a little whirl. I put just a bit on and I look like a Tranny.

I just got the bare escentuals today for the first time and omg it is fab!!! I got it from ebay for £10 inc p&p, i didn't want to spend full price as I hadn't tried it before but its really is great and so quick which is worth anything when you've got dcs.
My skin is shockingly bad at the mo with hormones all over the place! Dry, patchy, oily, spotty and all the rest but this makes it look flawless and natural.

It makes a huge amount of mess - how do you cope with all the bits of powder? Also after I'd given myself a light dusting I looked in the mirror and jumped back about 30 feet in horror - I looked like a freeeakin freak (and definitely a bit tranny!).

BusyBeeWithThree · 23/11/2008 10:29

Zazen - the blusher arrived this morning it is lovely. Thank you for the tip, definitely glow giving. Swedes - I found it really messy to start with and nearly gave up but it is probably because you are using too much. I don't get messy now!!
