Would you honestly notice if someone wore the same dress to a Christmas party and it was about three years apart?

Story is I have a lovely dress. Wore it to dh's work do about three years ago.

I subsequently put on quite a bit of weight and couldn't wear it anymore .

I have now lost the weight and hooray it fits again.

Christmas shindig looms once more and I still love the dress. If anything it fits better than last time. Money is tight etc and it seems crazy to buy something else when I have this. But there is this thing about not wearing the same thing again to the same do isn't there?

I would die if I thought everyone was thinking 'Oh here she comes in her dress again', but would anyone actually notice I wonder? I don't think I would but I'm not terribly observant about these things in other people tbh. Help!

At this rate I'll just blurt it out at the beginning and just get it off my chest. Make an 'announcement' to everyone.

Well done to you for fitting back in your dress, I wouldnt care, if it a momentous occasion for you, ala dress fitting, go look fabulous. Doubt they will or care, and if they do say something you must have looked stunning first time round for them to remember, so dont worry.

if people have room in their heads to notice what others wear and remember what they wore they got too much free time on their hands
Congrats on losing weight and have a great time.

Thank you again. Yes, weight piled on after dc arrived (as it does) but I'm beating it into submission slowly but surely.

I would only notice if had really really liked it when I saw it on you three years ago; seeing you wearing it again would simply make me think how lucky you were that you'd got that fab dress and how I wish I did!

I probably would notice but then would think nothing of it. I once wore a brown skirt suit to a wedding and then wore it again to another wedding two summers later, same friendship circle. The second bride was really upset that I hadn't bought a new outfit (well I had blown my budget on new shoes and a bag.. and it was a fab suit...but she didn't care about that, she thought it was rude to look the same in her wedding photos as other friend's.

I agree with Jux. But I'd be tempted to get some fab new shoes to wear with it!

Oh yes! Shoes. God I love shopping for shoes.

I do have a fantastic pair but they are hard to walk in. Will have to contact Victoria Beckham for lessons.

Why is it that the more gorgeous the shoes, the more painful/difficult they are? Oh well, as my mum always said Beauty feels no pain. If only.
