I know I should know the answer to this, but I really can't decide!

Yes or No?

OP posts:
gemmiegoatlegs · 13/11/2008 23:40

NO. they look like slippers. sorry

NCbirdy · 13/11/2008 23:47

No, No, No, No, No ..... No

solo · 13/11/2008 23:54

They should be called Ugh boots. They are horrible. IMO.

misscathcart · 14/11/2008 00:02

nope

CocoaCloset · 14/11/2008 00:04

I'd love to see what the 'oh no' posters wear on their feet for comfort purposes!

NCbirdy · 14/11/2008 00:16

Something that does not look like half a sheep (until they are old, then they look like half a sheep that has been running the highlands wild for several years).

Ok, I don't really mean that, I just don't like the look of them! Why though would you think that only Uggs are comfortable?

To answer your query I wear these

CocoaCloset · 14/11/2008 00:22

Me too - Just not on a Monday (day off with DD).

I am normally much admired (laughed at) for my choice of footwear at work. Tomorrow will be my leopard print mary jane platforms - Children in Need being my excuse this time.

p.s. Have not worn my uggs for ages as DH has apparently lost them.

NCbirdy · 14/11/2008 00:28

DH not a fan then?

I love Ugg style boots for comfort etc and I possibly would wear them as slippers but then my tootsies would boil! However, sadly they have been take over by people who like to walk over on the sides of their feet and not clean their shoes and .... oh you get the point. I would be mortified if the postman knocked at the door and saw me wearing a pair of Ugg slippers, he might think I was one of them ...

CocoaCloset · 14/11/2008 00:35

The ones you describe are fake uggs. No proper ugg wearer would meet the same fate.

DH is jealous as he thinks himself too chunky to wear uggs - I agree!

NCbirdy · 14/11/2008 00:39

I know they are fake Uggs, sadly though it is death by association really, a real pair, from a distance, just look like a new cheap pair!

I have not yet seen a pair of Uggs on a man - actually I didn't know they were available! I will need to see tham on before I can be judgmental about them

CocoaCloset · 14/11/2008 00:43

They are rare but rightly so.

(not in a good way)

weepootle · 14/11/2008 08:33

CocoaCloset, I totally agree with your idea of 'no' posters showing some form of proof of style- I bet most are either croc wearers or 'too-short jeans with heeled-boots' wearers!

Oh, and real uggs look nothing like the fakes- even my dh has been converted from a hater to loving mine and can now spot the real ones on someone from 200 metres.

solo · 14/11/2008 09:06

I don't like crocs and I think short trousers with boots are only for the svelt. I am not svelt.
I wear lots of different types of footwear.

superdenki · 14/11/2008 12:44

I have decided to take the plunge and get a pair - does anyone know the best place online to order them from, the australian sites seem to be cheaper than here?

suwoo · 14/11/2008 13:45

Don't get them from the Australian sites, they aren't the 'real' ones. The real ones are made by Deckers in China. You are best going to a decent shop on the high street. Jakes do delivery though. There is one near me, they are very reputable and only have decent stuff. If you think you are getting a bargain- its because they are not the ones you want.

suwoo · 14/11/2008 13:48

There is free delivery on uggs too. I got all my 4 pairs from here. There is a thread from this week saying not to buy from the Australian sites- so take heed!

weepootle · 14/11/2008 16:32

www.cloggs.co.uk are giving 10% off when you buy 2 items totalling over £75. The discount is automatically applied at checkout.

weepootle · 14/11/2008 16:35

Just found a better one- 12% off at www.shudoo.co.uk + free delivery. Offer ends 20 Nov, code is NEWSHU.

NCbirdy · 14/11/2008 16:41

weepootle because uggs are the epitomy of style

frisbyrat · 14/11/2008 16:42

I have these; they are fleece lined and very comfy - and waterproof!

Miyazaki · 14/11/2008 16:43

they are like cottonwool for the feet.

bliss after wearing heels.

NomDePlume · 14/11/2008 16:45

Pros - Comfortable & warm

Cons - Ugly, shapeless and very expensive for what is, essentially, a pair of those old folks slipper booties

lou33 · 14/11/2008 19:07

i admit i wouldnt pay the full price, but i like mine, even more so on account of the fact they were given to me for free

Ronaldinhio · 14/11/2008 19:37

no, no, no, no, no

Ronaldinhio · 14/11/2008 19:40

having said that ugg slippers truly are lovely
