I actually put down that I shop there oh dear is that not in on MN these days? I shall have to adjust my shopping accordingly!

DoubleBluff · 11/11/2008 20:11

I would go there if i could fit into their tiny sizes

Nbg · 11/11/2008 20:12

Well I call it Jane Whoreman, so take that whichever way you want

Dragonbutter · 11/11/2008 20:13

pav! get back on the thread i want to know where you are finding couture in devon!

weepootle · 11/11/2008 20:13

I shopped there occasionally when I was much younger, but haven't been inside one for years- their window displays just look like cheap tarty trash- truly horrendous.

mrsmaidamess · 11/11/2008 20:13

I thought it was goping to be a 'nice' shop from the name...and then I went in. Yeuch. Not as bad ad mark One though...anyone been in there recently?

doublehelp · 11/11/2008 20:13

I love jane norman get loads of stuff in there

nickytwotimes · 11/11/2008 20:14

Never heard of it.

janeite · 11/11/2008 20:14

Lol at Jane Whoreman. It really is horrible. DD1 13 won't even look in there, let alone 38 year old me.

itsMYmummy · 11/11/2008 20:15

IMHO if you like their style, circa 1999, black tight pants cut up tight lycra low cut tops, you'll always find something you like in there. I just find them really boring and predictable. Ps they are a little bit sluttish.

IllegallyBrunette · 11/11/2008 20:15

I think some of their stuff is nice, but way to expensive.

Dd1 (11), loves it. I got a dress from there once and she was overjoyed when I gave her the carrier bag lol.

zippitippitoes · 11/11/2008 20:19

I only went in there recently and liked quite a few things but was too expensive

i get most of my clothes in new look

chequersandchess · 11/11/2008 20:21

We're not allowed to say the word on mumsnet, are we?

itsMYmummy · 11/11/2008 20:21

FSF- if you like something buy it irrespective of whatever shop its from, I always pick up gems in the most unexpected of places.

mrsmaidamess · 11/11/2008 20:22

What, sea, aitch, ay, vee?

No. not allowed to say it.

itsMYmummy · 11/11/2008 20:23

...IMM whispering ...just don't menition it on style and beauty!.....

chequersandchess · 11/11/2008 20:23

The word? The word 'chav' I meant to type.

Some kind of weird self-censorshp there...

janeite · 11/11/2008 20:25

That is what dd1 one calls it. Shhhh - you know, the "C word".

widgypog · 11/11/2008 20:53

I dont think its so much it is hated jiust it is overpriced shit

tonton · 11/11/2008 21:01

Very tacky and dated looking.

Lukesmammy · 11/11/2008 21:50

I used to like it in my early twenties and thought of it as being a relatively'nice' high street store. Now however, everything just looks soooo cheap with the exception of the odd jumper/cardi/coat.

fishie · 11/11/2008 21:55

i bought a pair of trousers there and zip broke. took them back and they stared blankly. 'we haven't got any more of them' errm well can i have money back then [more blank face] 'no. we can't get into hhe till'

i am not a feeble consumer but was defeated by the blank girls.
