Price range?

Boden have some fab ones, but I would need to get my wallet stolen before my dh would let me get another one without complaining!

LetThemEatCake · 11/11/2008 15:38

i am utterly hearting Becksondergaard wallets and clutches - buttery eelskin in vibrant yummy colours. i have the purple clutch and the teal wallet. Wallet was £32. I bought in a store but think you can buy online at Covet and Candy. Can find link for you if you like?

Sorry about your wallet

I have a Ness one, and love it even though it is too small for Swiss francs so I have to fold my money.

stillstanding · 11/11/2008 15:43

Orla Kiely has some lovely non-black ones ...

Penthesileia · 11/11/2008 15:45

If money were no object, I would get this.

MmeLindt · 11/11/2008 15:45

Letthemeatcake
I have just googled Becsondergaard. Wow! Lovely, must look for them.

PerkinWarbeck · 11/11/2008 15:47

Letthemeatcake - do you have a link?

i bought a gorgeous electric blue wallet from fenwick a while ago, v reasonably priced too. can't remember the make but will check for you later if you like? tis very soft leather.

stillstanding · 11/11/2008 15:51

True, Perkin - bit of a rip off for not leather.

cremolafoam · 11/11/2008 15:54

there is usually a good choice in Tkmaxx

PerkinWarbeck · 11/11/2008 15:58

www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Ted+Baker+Elmira+large+leather+flap-over+purse/114553804,default,pd.h tml?cgid=3045 was my old wallet. I like the style, but wouldn't have chosen black ('twas a present). I really liked the boden dalmation one, and the lulu guinness. I am now trying to decide how much to spend, especially since I am already a 20 pound note down after being relieved of my wallet.

What about Cath Kidston? Not cheap but fab and they're all oilcloth so you can just wipe off the food / sticky drinks etc that your kids are bound to spill on it (or is that just my DD??)

thanks all! trying to decide on budget. I like the Boden and Cath Kidston ones, but also Primark and and an Aspinall copy I saw in Dorothy Perkins for £8. Hmm, leather, or cheap?

weepootle · 12/11/2008 08:25

I prefer oilcloth to leather, but if you don't want to fork out for real leather then definitely get oilcloth rather than fake leather.

mamaspanx · 12/11/2008 13:45

i have this one in a different print quite nice

fishie · 12/11/2008 13:48

i was in kew yesterday, they had lovely biggish purses/ pocket book thingies, really soft leather. not on website alas, about £32 i think.

RamblingRosa · 12/11/2008 14:03

My purse was nicked in the summer (in Mothercare of all places ). I was gutted as it was a really lovely bright blue leather one (sounds dodgy but it was a really amazing cornflower colour in soft leather). I prefer bright, unusual ones to neutral ones so I trawled all the usual shops and couldn't find one I liked. I ended up getting an M&S neutral one just because it was on sale and I was (still am broke). I recommend T K MAxx though. That's where I got the blue one. They have quite an unusual range. Usually lots of different colours, shapes styles, generally for about £10-£15.

Ooh, I love Orla Kiely wallets--so fun to pull out of my purse. Ped Shoes is currently offering 20% off all their Orla Kiely goods when you enter the code orla@ped on the final page of checkout. I have my eye on this one. It cheers me up just to look at the picture! (Maybe I should make a new thread about the Orla discount for all the O.K. lovers on mumsnet? )
