Which style of long boots for this season (and next hopefully...)

I want some new long boots (of the two pairs I have one is now too small for my calves and the other too big!)

I've seen in Clarks they have lots of styles which are adjustable enough at the top to fit my 'sporty' calves (I'm not big all over really but have decidedly chunky legs!)

Of these, I'm wondering which styles are more 'of the season'?
I know really it 'should' be ankle boots but I'd look AWFUL in them.

I'm really looking for a flatish (but ideally not totally flat pair) for the school walk etc.

Definitely want High Street such as Clarks as others won't fit but I don't want to do mail order (can't remember that specialist bigger boot co name - ordered before from them and they were great but I want to try them on).

What will you wear with them? Jeans, leggings, skirts? Any colour?

I got these at Clarks recently and am very pleased with them - smart but comfortable enough to wear walking around all day. They do two widths in that style.

from the Clarks wide fit range, I would go for these.

Its a shame you won't do online because so many people rave about Duo boots.

I have these clarks

They are really comfy because the sole and heel are kind of springy rather than hard iyswim.

I haven't actually worn them yet though because I'm now having dilemmas about what to wear them with!

The calves are adjustable (elastic bit at the side & buckle.)

They are a little wide on me at the top but they only had 2 pairs of boots in a 3 so I had v. little choice! I have quite skinny calves though.

hth

I also tried on these ankle boots here
in grey - they were pretty nice but I had NO idea what I would wear them with and was looking for a long style to wear with above-the-knee skirts.

Not sure what they would look like with wider calves?

The ones Nbg linked are good allrounders. There are some lovely ankle boots about but they are quite hard to carry off unless you go for a look with shorter skirts and tighter jeans.

chipmunkswhereareyou · 09/11/2008 14:58

Like the ones haven'tslept and NbG linked to...ladyglen - those are a bit smart for me.

Will try those two.

Ah yes that's it - Duo! I forgot the name. I ordered some fab boots from them when I was pregnant and my calves were a bit bigger. They are great quality but I just want to try them on.

Will prob wear them over skinny jeans and with skirts which is why adjustable top bits are great!

Let us know what you get!

chipmunkswhereareyou · 09/11/2008 18:23

Will do! I can't wait to get some which actually fit so I can wear something other than jeans. Mind you I might need a 'what skirt to wear with my new boots' thread too!
