Swimsuit for my apple-esque MIL?

Please, oh MN-ers, we need help with this one!

DP has to get a swimsuit to send to his MIL. She is about 5'2", with a very rotund tummy but a short body and thin bottom. We think she is a size 16.

It needs to be quite modest and unflashy, too.

Any ideas as to where to look?

Thanks Aitch - they have a Sale which has some good possibilities!

I'm an apple - thought alot taller than your mil. The most flattering costume I have is one from BHS, they have a brilliant range (Well they did in the summer!). The style is a sort of cross-over front with ruching at the side and it gives me an hourglass shape.

The MIL swimsuit issue is becaoming a family scandal. Because she is short but round, and lives in a country where there is very little choice in anything, she has a size 16 costume, BUT it is clearly for taller people and has wizzled old elsatic. Because her bottom is thin, and she is short, the crotch hangs down and reveals her fanjo, and because of her apple shape, she cannot see this, and is unaware.

In addition, she only tends to wear it on big family beach picnics where much rum is imbibed, which adds to all aspects of the problem, really.

Your help in solving this will be appreciated beyond measure.

What's the budget? The MiracleSuit gets a great write up but v v v expensive - over £100. Can get it on Figleaves.com. Maybe others can chip in? Unless you're very rich of course.

Oh, I don't think we'll spend a lot on this! Main issue is one that fits and provides some modesty - not one that flatters her figure etc. Also, it will be badly treated, left out in tropical sun, boil washed etc, so not worth spending loads.

Ok, I can't help at all unfortunately (tall pear here!) but just wanted to let you know that you owe me a new keyboard Blu - I snorted my coffee all over it at your description!

Your MIL's figure could be describing my mum's, and she is very good with clothes and gets a lot to flatter her from BHS. I have no idea how, but that's where she finds her stuff, including swimming cossies.

Korma - it is 'bad typing' for 'looks'
