What temporary colours do you recommend?

I'm tempted to henna my hair. It's maybe 20% grey, which I'm figuring would turn into red highlights (rest of my hair is v dark brown). But I'm worried I won't like the outcome, and then be stuck with it.

So what temporary (3-4 days?) colour would you recommend?

Lush do a nice 'brown' henna. I use their red one, but the brown one has brown dye as well as the henna.

Does their dye last a long time?

I suddenly thought, yesterday, that maybe I want to have green or purple highlights.

henna is permanent as far as i know. i used to henna mine and grey bits came out quite orangey! so proceed with caution

don't know much about temp colour as i use semi-permanent (movida). didn't there use to be sachets called 'toners' for dark hair? not sure what happens to the grey tho.

Oh, I thought henna tended to last a few months? I used to do it regularly, but didn't like the fact it was hiding my grey bits. Now I'm not so sure about that idea.

But I'm very tempted, suddenly, by the idea of using manic panic or equivalent, which would presumably do nothing to my normal hair, but would colour my grey bits bright green or whatever?

Hmm ... probably the sort of thing I should be thinking about for at least a few days before I do it ...
