Bex dress alternatives.

I LOVE this. Unfortunately it's sold out in all sizes in both colours.

I really wanted to wear it on Christmas day. I love the blue colour but would have been happy with the cream. Anyway, it's out of stock so I'm looking for an alternative.

The best I've found so far is this one. I like it but don't really want to wear black on Christmas Day so am wondering if anyone has seen anything similar to the Bex dress?

Similar feel though not quite the same shape?
Quite a few possibles here (many come in different colours, if you click on them)?

There absolutely loads on ebay brand new, i bought mine from FC and was gutted to see them much cheaper on ebay. I love that dress, gets loads of compliments and hides a multitude.

if you put in bex dress it will briing them all up for you.

JackieNo ~ I like the Oasis dress just don't like the fabric it's made in. It clings to tights. I like this one on the Uttam website but again it's in the clingy fabric. Some of the others there are lovely too but the sleeves are very short and I wanted something with a bit of arm coverage. Thank you for your help though.

Have looked on Ebay and there's one blue Bex dress in a 12. Unfortunately payment is by PayPal only and I don't have a PayPal account. I'll keep looking though and with a bit of luck there'll be one for sale that takes cheques or POs. Again, thanks for your help.

It's v easy to set up a paypal account.

KatieMorag · 08/11/2008 15:16

amandoh - have you tried on FC dresses? IME they are very big. are you sure you are a 12?

Amandoh · 08/11/2008 18:06

LaTruncha ~ I don't have a bank account so my DP writes out cheques for me. I know he could open a PayPal account but he doesn't use Ebay and I don't buy from there often so we're quite happy paying by cheque or PO.

I've written to the seller of the size 12 blue Bex dress to ask if I can pay by cheque or PO so hopefully will hear back from them soon.

KatieMorag ~ I tried on the cream Bex dress in a size 10 last week and it was a bit snug on the hips. I want to wear it on Christmas Day and a size 10 will not comfortably accomodate me, turkey, Christmas pud, numerous mince pies and half a tub of Quality Street. If I sat down after that lot I'd burst a seam! Disappointing as it looked lovely on, although I'd prefer the blue but they only had the cream one left in sizes 8 and 10.

really? from your photos you look skinny as a rake i can only assume its snug fitting

BTW i know you are not asking about this but you REALLY need a bank account. no seriously. how else do you get cash? shop online? and other less important things like pay the gas bill

amandoh, you are me 2 weeks ago....

I kept meaning to look for this dress a month or so ago and only got around to doing it 2 weeks ago....and as you said, sold out everywhere..

Good luck in your search. I gave up .

ithinkimtallandblonde · 08/11/2008 21:40

My ebay account is paid for with my dh's card you can use which ever card you like you just set up the account.

Amandoh · 08/11/2008 21:53

KatieMorag ~ I've got really wide hips compared to my waist.
I know I really ought to get around to opening a bank account. I had a joint account with ex-husband but closed it when we separated. My DP deals with all bills and there's cash available if I want it. If there's anything that I want that's only available online then he's happy to order it with his credit card.

Shhhh ~ When you say you "gave up" does that mean you've bought something else instead? If so, what did you buy? Just a thought, (That's if you haven't bought something else) are you anywhere near Croydon? They had three size 8s and two size 10s left in the cream last week.
