Don't they get really dirty and wet easily?

I've been tempted by real Uggs for a while and whilst browsing found these. Uggs - but much more practical.

They are brilliant - so comfy and being leather you don't have to worry about the rain and the real sheepskin inside is lush. Since getting them they have hardly been off my feet!

I've got those cargo Uggs, they are gorgeous but I have size 8 feet and they are massive!!!

I did pay a bit less though, our local Ugg stockist has them for £180 and I got them for £150 from America (via the wonders of ebay)

DomesticBlobess · 11/11/2008 13:02

Hi kettlechip - I didn't pay that much either!

I was wondering about getting them from the US but didn't in the end. Can I ask you how it works getting stuff from the US - did you have to pay duty when it arrived and if so, who to and how?

My branch of CostCo had them at the weekend, worked out about £120 with vat. They had black, sand and chestnut, if I recall.

I don't need another pair this year, but they are a good buy at that price.

Are these a joke?

i hate walking behind people in these. they all walk in on their ankles and it looks horrid.

kettlechip · 11/11/2008 14:41

hi domesticblobess (love the name!) no I didn't get stung for duty with my boots as they marked the value as being about $50 on the shipping docs. I think ebay sellers generally refund it if you do get charged but it's unlikely.

When I recently got charged for a watch I bought, customs phoned me up and I had to pay VAT by credit card via phone. They sent me a receipt and it got delivered as usual.

They are ok for rain if you get the stuff from the ugg website that you should spray on them..
They are soo warm.. Exspencive.. But worth it.. As you see people in fake ones and the sole & ankle part is collapsing, and doesn't look nice at all..!

kettlechip · 11/11/2008 14:47

I've worn my real Uggs endlessly and they aren't collapsing down. I really wouldn't buy the fakes, they just don't last at all.

Real Uggs are definitely worth it in my opinion. You can get them for about £100 on ebay from US sellers but be so careful of fakes, even from sellers with good feedbcak, can recommend some good sellers I've used if anyone needs one.

Just had some for my birthday. DH thinks they are ugly which made me more determined to have them . They are SO warm and toasty- no need to put the heating on so save money in the long run...
Also have the Primark version- £175 difference but world's apart...
