Mine have just arrived and either I'm going to have to sleep in them or nip to Scats pronto!!
(they remind me of an Argentinian groom I had a thing for once)

Sighs wistfully...

Oh my goodness yes , now I understand "tough as old boots" except they are new but to hard and difficult to get on and off, I've returned mine as after soft lovely suedette and much softer leather my poor legs are spoilt.

Ruby2shoes · 06/11/2008 14:47

Im just glad I didnt pay full price - I think they will be my dog walking boots !

This is very depressing - I'm waiting for mine at the moment - has anyone had any and thinks they are nice?

Ruby2shoes · 06/11/2008 15:54

Oh dont get me wrong - I do like them - I got the Gaucho in the darker brown colour - they are quite snug fitting around the foot, didnt think I was going to get it in!

Then once on they are rather difficult to get off!!
Helps if you are bendy or have someone straddle your leg and pull them off for you!

I think they are the type of boot that gets better with age and wears in a bit.
Im fairly out-doorsy so they will be perfect for general everyday wear.

I posted about the boots originally and mine turned up today - I was a bit worried after having seen these comments last night they would have to go back and as Joules don't do free returns thought that could be pricey.

I got the gaucho boots too - the other style were zipped so should present less problems.

zipped boots only left in size 3

non zipped gaucho

Anyway I'm quite tall (5ft10) and a size 6 shoe, size 10 clothes. Because the boots are largish and my legs reasonably slim the gaucho boots are easy to get on and off. If anything they are a bit baggy round the legs.

They are def heavy outdoorsy boots - will be good for things when you need something serious, but don't necessarily want to wear wellies - e.g walk ending in a pub, watching DSs at rugby etc.

I won't be wearing them to work but for £32 I'll be happy to wear them for that kind of thing (and they've cost less than a pair of decent wellies)

fishie · 07/11/2008 13:17

well they rang me to say sorry they'd run out (after taking the money ) so i won't have the chance to find out unless one of you is returning a size 7 brown.

BoysAreLikeDawgs · 07/11/2008 13:20

No !!

Am still waiting for mine - ordered last Thursday

fishie - how long between ordering and receiving the phone call ??

fishie · 07/11/2008 13:24

i ordered on friday so you're higher up teh queue than me! i think they rang on wednesday.

BoysAreLikeDawgs · 07/11/2008 13:28

[chews fist]

Thanks fishie

Bad for them to take your order then decide that the item is not available, sympathies.

dexter73 · 07/11/2008 15:26

I ordered the brown gaucho last week and then had an email to say they were out of stock. I have just looked again and they are back in so I have ordered them again and will see what happens this time!

fishie · 07/11/2008 20:47

me too dexter, i bet it is only one pair, which of us will get them?

higgle · 08/11/2008 16:13

I have just had an email message too that mine in size 5 are out of stock - they really ought to have a more sophisticated web site as lots of use seem to have missed out on this and had refunds.

littlestrawberry · 08/11/2008 17:40

I've got mine and I love them

I do have slim calves though.I got the gaucho ones in Moss which aren't mossy at all really. They are a lovely pale brown colour

Getting them on is easy, getting them off reminds me a little of getting welly boots off....easier if someone pulls them off for you.

fishie · 16/11/2008 19:58

so who has boots and who doesn't? i have none and no word on them.

dexter73 · 16/11/2008 20:02

I got an email last week to say they had been cancelled again! Not very happy as they had already taken the money from my account. I thought most companies only took money when the goods were despatched?

fishie · 16/11/2008 20:50

i think they all take money first but usually the stock / despatch is better so you wouldn't notice. joules are very bad at this. redoute also lousy but they don't pretend to be good at customer service.

Gracie73 · 31/03/2009 20:42

I've just found a brand new pair on ebay, but they're too big for me - no fair

Size 6 just in case anyone's still looking.
