Oohh!! So excited! I've just won one on ebay!

It's velvet and very very big. It might turn up and be horrible but what do you think?

here

I can't think where it came from if it was £700 to begin with though

Aefangedkiss · 02/11/2008 20:48

flight4 it was a good sofa, survived lots of abuse form my children (I never stopped my dc jumping on the sofa), my dd and ds had a game that they invented which involved launching off the arm and seeing how far they could jump along it, it was called 1,2,3, zeroooooo.

I think it depends how old the sofa is - so that ebay habitat sofa, must surely be quite new?, I am thinking of freecycling mine, to a person looking to do a re-upholstery course... but otherwise I think it will be going to the skip.

Flightattendant4 · 02/11/2008 20:52

Hiya, no I don't stop mine jumping either! Well I do if he gets too carried away, as the one we have atm is very old put-u-up type thing with very big iron springs, I couldn;t fix it if one of them went twang iykwim!!

I thought this one looked habitatish too, but I don't think it would have cost that little new if it was. The castors look like nice quality though. Just hope to goodness i can keep it clean with two monkeys jumping on it/being sick on it/ well you know the type of thing...

at least it was quite cheap! (comparatively)

I wish I knew how to re upholster stuff.

Found this one on ebay too

Except it might want a bit of work

Aefondkiss · 03/11/2008 09:29

lol

We need to buy a new sofa too.

Sofasofa have been recommended to us.

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 11:47

Wow, just ahd a look at their site, they're so cheap!

Look like nice quality as well.

I'm very tempted by a second hand Heals one at the mo, but have just got that other one so had better not.

blithedance · 03/11/2008 20:41

I was just going to say sofasofa, although their more expensive ones are the most comfortable. We have the Portland but ggirl didn't want brown leather (things are obviously a bit passe round here!)

They are great value for money, British made and nice classic designs I think, not like gimmicky DFS.

Heals, now, that would be a cut above.

In those home magazines the people with gorgeous looking sofas always get them from Habitat.
