Opaque black tights with gold peep-toe shoes - faux pas or super stylish?

My gut reaction is no, but I'm sure I've seen pics in magazines recently where peep-toes were worn with opaque tights.

So, Mumsnet style jury - Yes or No?

Noooo. I don't think so. Maybe silver? Maybe not

Cremolatorium · 31/10/2008 13:24

am also wondering this. surely you can't go out in this weather in a patent peeptoe with no hosiery?

TheProvincialLady · 31/10/2008 13:25

I have done this. Depends on the rest of your outfit and whether your peep toes are more 1993 M&S or something a bit more edgy!

Cheesesarnie · 31/10/2008 13:28

i think sounds nice.depends on the shoes and rest of outfit obviously.

Fitted black dress, black tights, gold peep-toes.

The shoes themselves are lovely, and really don't want to have to put them away till it's warm enough to go out bare-legged!

Seems to me like Grazia etc are full of opaques and peep-toe combos. Go for it. The rest of your outfit sounds very low key so I think it would work.

mrsmaidamess · 31/10/2008 15:53

Sounds gorgeous. I would wear it!. Have you a gold clutch to complete the ensemble?

cocoleBOO · 31/10/2008 15:53

First instinct is NO! But the shops are full of peep toe boots (WTF?!) so it's probably what all the youngsters are doing these days.

SheikYerBATi · 31/10/2008 15:55

Peep toe boots

Btw, in answer to the op - a resounding no

Hm sounds rather good. I would! And a great way to get a different look from your sandals too.

Opaque tights are lovely. (I like the way they squeeze my legs into better shape)

Your outfit sounds great.

Peep toe boots? Blee.
