this but with a lower neckline, preferably scooped. Budget up to about £50 DH has evening graduation next month & is wearing dark kilt. Dressing it up with big bling necklace & metallic bag.

Would prefer high street to try it on but online doable.

Thanks.

This at Peacocks?

Jbck · 28/10/2008 11:44

Lovely P&D but I'm a size 14, maybe it's just not available online, I'll try our local one to see if they've bigger sizes instore. Need the scoop neck for my 36Es.

Possible? But not a scoop neckline...

Jbck · 28/10/2008 15:16

Sadly I don't suit that look because of my bosoms. The bolero bit just sits in an odd place same with all these tops with the shrug bits on them. Scoop or V is fine tho'.

Have seen some lovely ones online but an awful lot are sleeveless and I'm a bit too self conscious of my flabby bits.

this?

I am crap at linking to oli, the above is £75, French Connection, (I know over budget but fits your remit?) Oli might be worth a look.

Jbck · 28/10/2008 19:42

Really like the Principles one sputnik saw it on the Debenhams site.

We've a DPs locally too so I'll have a look at those ones LD AFK love the name will you keep it till Burns night? Really don't want to go over £50 as I've an all day wedding next month too & need the whole shebang for that so it's getting the big bucks. Sadly the day after each other or I'd maybe have gotten away with the same thing.

How about this?

Aefangedkiss · 28/10/2008 19:57

ooh so you are looking for two outfits? what will you wear to the wedding?

oli has some dresses about £40 mark, some Maria Grachvogel ones she designed for Oli... but you would have the hassle of mail order... will have another look about.

Yes, I think I will keep my name, changed it for Burn's night and it stuck... though I might change it for Burn's night briefly again.

Jbck · 28/10/2008 20:33

SG wouldn't you think they'd show you the back to entice you further?

AFK Wedding I'm not too sure, something similar but with bigger & brighter accessories tbh. Doing jewellery, shoes, bag & wrap or jacket for that one too tho'. Thinking black or dark grey with big colourful corsage & opaques (purples, mulberry sort of hue) to match. Am hoping it'll hit me in the eye when I venture out into the real world instead of online browsing. For most stuff I'm an online shopper but really want to get something first time & not have the hassle of returning. Will have a scout round the Oli site for inspiration tho'. Did think I'd go on John Lewis site & see it all but no luck, hoping instore will be more fruitful.

Could you try the Debenhams one in your original post and if it fits ok and you really like it, pay to get it altered? Am thinking £25 for the dress is quite a bargain which leaves you lots of money to get the neckline sorted out...

bellabelly · 28/10/2008 20:40

This from Topshop? They do up to size 16.

bellabelly · 28/10/2008 20:41

oops, linked to plum instead of black but they do it in black too

Cremolatorium · 28/10/2008 20:46

herechoices!

Cremolatorium · 28/10/2008 20:47

duhsorry

gigglewitch · 28/10/2008 20:50

oooh, i tried that one from Debs on, it is nicer on than off, but agree that a lower neckline would be more flattering.
think i've seen something in Wallis

bellabelly · 28/10/2008 20:52

This is only £25 from New Look - lace is not my thing personally but it is supposedly bang on trend!

gigglewitch · 28/10/2008 20:53

here's one, but not the one i meant

gigglewitch · 28/10/2008 20:55

any use?

Aefangedkiss · 28/10/2008 21:22

shift dress £56.70, maybe a bit too Miss Moneypenny?

Aefangedkiss · 28/10/2008 21:27

I know! but it is only £28

gigglewitch · 28/10/2008 21:34

gigglewitch · 28/10/2008 21:38
