I'm size 12/14 (14 on a bad day, mostly 12) Biggish norks, ok waist (not tiddly but not straight up and down). I like the look of wrap dresses and boots - not into massive patterns though as am short. Any ideas where to start? Have looked at fat face, white stuff, (tried a boden one ages ago and it looked hideous...freaky patterns) , debenhams, Oli, M&S with no luck.
Am I too late, are they SO over

DVF make lovely ones - but they are a little passe now!

barbie1 · 26/10/2008 21:36

Depends on your budget, dvf is famous for her wrap dress but at £250 a pop they are expensive! try french connection, topshop or principles...and no you arent too late. The wrap will always be a staple of any womens wardrobe good luck!

Phase eight have got some nice ones in.

WinnieTheWitchHasNothingOnMe · 26/10/2008 21:38

LOL oh no, not passe... whatever will I do...and I'm so cutting edge usually.

I did have a look at DVF and the one I saw was £400! Right, off to try the places you suggested although I am very scared of top shop lol!

I've got a lovely size 12 French Connection one which I've been meaning to ebay. I've only worn it once. It's v nice! Silk mix jersey with a nice print.

WinnieTheWitchHasNothingOnMe · 27/10/2008 10:54

You need the dress or the pic by end of next week? I'll see what I can do. It's round at my mum's at the moment but I can try to pick it up over the weekend. I need to find a pic online so you know what it's like...

dinny · 29/10/2008 08:41

I love wrap dresses am jealous (big preggers tummy)

RamblingRosa · 29/10/2008 10:17

Dinny, I had the loveliest wrap dress ever from Topshop maternity when I was pg. I wore it almost every day. The wrap bit went under the bust/over the bump, instead of on the waist like a normal wrap dress. It looked lovely and it was the comfiest thing I had. I recommend you get one! I'd offer you mine but I gave it to a pg friend.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 29/10/2008 10:23

tk maxx have quite a few, I got a lovely pale grey polka dot one (nicer than it sounds)

WinnieTheWitchHasNothingOnMe · 29/10/2008 15:44

Dress by the end of next week if poss would be great
I went into TK Maxx yesterday, they didn't have any in my one

oooh, thanks RR, will have a look-see.....

shangrila · 30/10/2008 10:42

I have just bought one of these in black. Lots of other colours too.

Forget it's from an 'old lady' catalogue and just look at the cut. The quality of the jersey is perfect too. I am a wrap veteran but this beats others hands down.

Really worth a look. But perhaps not in red.

RamblingRosa · 24/11/2008 08:54

HEllo Winnie. Sorry I didn't get back to you. Haven't been online much recently and also only managed to get over to mum;s to pick up the dress this weekend.

I know you wanted it a few weeks ago but just thought I'd let you know I've got it now and can email you some pics if you're still looking for a wrap dress...

CoolYourJets · 24/11/2008 09:02

dinny - i wore a wrap dress most of the way through my preg, I just sized up and moved the belt above the bump. Was handy on the way down too.
