Footwear despair

I have MS and have recently been a bit more wobbly and unsure of step.

I am dreading the Arctic weather coming our way (promised by the Express (who else?) in a headline I saw today). Whether it does come next week or not, as we are approaching winter I am feeling more and more nervous about slipping and tripping (never a dainty walker me!)

I went looking for boots or shoes with a decent grip today and found a nice pair of boots (Staccato anyone??) but nothing else that was not a full on walking boot.

I would love to buy my winter footwear in shops other than Tiso or Millets. Reiker had a couple of possibles but nothing in my size.

Does anyone know of anything, perhaps online?

Or has anyone else had this particular quest? It was the first time I went shopping for shoes where all I was looking at was the soles. A rather dispiriting venture, I might add..........
