It sounds as though the worst that someone could say is "it's a bit bland/dull/minimalist" which I'm sure you're tough enough to take.

Or am I just nosey and therefore underestimating the mumsnet trolls honesty in a bid to see your photos?

Rugs and cushions are an easy way to add a splash of colour. Is there an alcove or fireplace you could paint a bold colour?

LadyOfRoffle · 21/10/2008 21:24

Post them, no one will judge.

kettlechip · 21/10/2008 21:25

I'm into duck egg with chocolate here. We have wooden floors and neutral walls. Lots of cushions, rugs, pictures etc. No clutter but the odd nice pot or bowl. We're quite coastal though, so I've kind of gone with that look.
I like the Laura Ashley catalogue for ideas, and it's not all chintz in there, they do simple too. Or John lewis?

gingertabby · 21/10/2008 21:25

there are no alcoves or fire places. it white and light wood only.

stop harassing her, people.

We do not think you live in a brothel gingertabby. We think you live in a wood and white minimalist oasis.

we just want to see it. NOW!

gingertabby · 21/10/2008 22:06

Is that your house?

gingertabby · 21/10/2008 22:22

not my actual house, but this is what it looks like, but even blander/duller.

harpomarx · 21/10/2008 22:29

how old kids?

how about a blackboard wall? That way you can have it bland classy minimalist when you like but also really colourful when the kids want.

great big colourful rug, hard floors not so great for crawling, playing on hands and knees.
