Wedding outfit disaster !!!!

Have had a complete nightmare buying an outfit for a wedding we are going to in under 3 weeks now ! Everything I've tried on is bloody awful .... so I have this and it fits soam sticking with it but now need help with shoes/accessories.

Was thinking black shoes so either these or these (I'm not restricted as such on budget, just these are the only ones I've seen I like). What colour/style bag and accessories ???

I LOVE it - looks fab and imo both nice but 2nd ones lend themselves better to the dress

very

REALLY dont like the first ones, but 2nd ones are lovely.

purple looks nice with gold (is it gold?) if you are feeling brave.

MrsMattie · 14/10/2008 18:04

No advice on accessories ( not my forte) but the dress is gorgeous.

littlestrawberry · 14/10/2008 19:06

Gorgeous dress

No help sorry, crap with accessories.

FoghornLeghorn · 14/10/2008 21:45

I was thinking the first were probably too chunky for the dress.
Hadn't thought of purple (couldn't get past black or silver myself !) hhhmmmmmmmm

Not a disaster at all lovely dress, you can accessorise with black shoes (I like 2nd pair with dress), and a simple black clutch bag, or you can pick up the other goldy colour in the dress with a gold coloured bag, or be really daring and go for a contrast colour, like kerryk mentioned, eg you could get a corsage to pin to the dress in say purple and a bag to go with it , maybe keeping the shoes dark.

bluejelly · 14/10/2008 22:32

I love the first shoes! Sorry to buck the trend. But second ones fine. Buy something you will be happy to wear on another occasion I reckon.,

And the dress is divine!

ladymac · 14/10/2008 22:33

I know I sound like my grandma, but what are you going to wear over the dress to keep warm?

ladymac · 14/10/2008 22:36

Like the dress by the way and I like first shoes best, bit more unusual.

Ronaldinhio · 14/10/2008 22:45

sorry i think that the second shoes are horrid and v old fashioned
the first ones are fab

samsonara · 14/10/2008 23:19

The shoes being different styles, one modern and on trend and the other classic girly peep courts give a different finished look to the dress, ie the first is more fun and fashion aware and the second more feminine and sweet, so it depends what mood you want to portray. The fact you like both Foghornleghorn, shows you've got trend but also are aware of the setting you'll wear the dress in...(sorry everyone I just realised I sound like I'm giving a psychic clothes reading..LOL..I'd better shut up and get some brain rest!)

OLIVIASMAMA · 15/10/2008 06:10

Ooooh, I think KK's got it right - purple sounds gorgeous...and the dress is just lovely.

FoghornLeghorn · 15/10/2008 07:44

Thanks all, appreciate the contrasting views
I agree with the different shoes giving the outfit a different look ....I'll decide which ones are more comfortable then go for them .
I'm in a daring mood so am going to try the purple accessories .... are we talking bright purple/dark purple/plum ??? Chunky or dainty - or will that depend on the shoes ?

lovely dress, second pair of shoes.

Amandoh · 15/10/2008 13:06

Another vote for the first pair of shoes. The second pair are a bit dull.

Are you sure about the purple accessories? It's just that the dress is black and then looks like it has various shades of creams and golds in it in too. Would the introduction of another colour be a bit too much?

Beaded gold clutch.

This one might be a good match for the lightest colour in the dress.

Good size and is the same fabric and colour as the shoes.

Chunky-ish bracelet.
