Are these shoes really nice or not?

These I quite like them for Christmas parties but I have no faith in my own brain to chose nice clothes anymore.
If they're horrid, please can someone find me some more - shiny, comfy etc...

I wish Cod was here

Ok in the absence of COd I will be straight and say they look cheap. Which is odd as they are not but I'm sure you can find better in a similar style.

ilove · 13/10/2008 12:56

I like them

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 13/10/2008 12:59

Don't like them very much, I'm afraid. What would you wear them with?

Scootergrrrl · 13/10/2008 14:49

Sorry - got distracted. I was going to wear them - or something else! - with thick-ish tights and skirts or dresses and perhaps with trousers as well.

There were some lovely patent ones on M&S which were more like shoe boots things but they don't have them in my size (3).

look at the Clarks website. I am converted to shopping in the same shoe shop as my grandma by their lovely patent offerings..

anyfucker · 13/10/2008 20:09

not to my taste

would only wear those during day with wide leg black trousers (if at all)

pReachyTheExorcist · 13/10/2008 20:11

They're OK but i've seen better n that style atm

FeelingLucky · 13/10/2008 20:19

They're gross and they look cheap (wouldn't guess they'd cost almost a hundred quid)!

harpomarx · 13/10/2008 20:23

the name Jane Shilton puts me off immediately. A looong time ago I used to have a Saturday job in a shop patronized by well heeled ladies of a certain age. Most of our handbags and shoes were Jane Shilton, so they scream ancient respectability to me. Sorry.

WinkyWinkola · 13/10/2008 20:24

I like them but definitely not in patent. They're very versatile - can wear with trousers or skirts.

Scootergrrrl · 13/10/2008 20:25

That's ok (sob). I'm officially old now.

Sorry I dont like them, its really strange they look cheap, wouldnt pay £80.00......

Scootergrrrl · 13/10/2008 20:28

Can anyone find me something similar but not cheap looking? Or it is a given in that style?

OP posts:
flourybaps · 13/10/2008 20:33

Sorry dont know how to link but clarks do some nice victorian style shoes called 'bitter lemon' in black and brown... I do love clarks.....

flourybaps · 13/10/2008 20:36

There are a few in that style on the website

verylapsedrunner · 13/10/2008 20:37

Not to my tatse

harpomarx · 13/10/2008 20:37

are these too high?

SmugColditz · 13/10/2008 20:37

They look cheap..

Which has it's place, but ffs don't pay 90 quid for them

Scootergrrrl · 13/10/2008 20:40

We're at a BFPO address and Clark's don't deliver out here (the buggers!) so that's out.
The Office ones are a wee bit high - spend most of my time in Converse

OP posts:
SharkyandGeorge · 13/10/2008 20:40

I don't like them much, think they look a lot cheaper than the price tag.

hecAteTheirBrains · 13/10/2008 20:42

I don't really like them (but then I don't have to wear them, but you did ask!)

They look a bit 'lady of the night'ish

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/10/2008 20:47

Scooter - can you not get something sent to family over here and then they pass them on?

BBBee · 13/10/2008 20:49

bit 'new look' IYSWIM

DoubleBluff · 13/10/2008 20:53

Look cheap and nasty.
Like teh style but not in patent.

S1ur · 13/10/2008 20:55

Evening.

I dislike them, but I might just dislike the style....

What do you like and want to keep, the patent? the laced up look? the shoe/ankle boot style?

here are some random differetn looking dune shoes
