Oh I like the dress.

Personally not keen on tunics and trousers .

Get some stonking great heels for the dress lulumama and you will look fabulous.

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:03

thank you!

i have very high black patent wedges, that mean i have to cling to DHs arm all night and cannot walk unaided, and a pair of cone heel patent shoes that tie with a ribbon

thick black tights?

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:03

do you think i could wear the tunic as a dress?

or will it look like i am half dressed

Do the dress with fab shoes.

DraculaNeedsArteries · 09/10/2008 20:05

Ooo.

i like the dress...but my calfs are shite from teh toes up so I couldn't get away with it.

I don't like hte tunic. Too plain from teh belly button upwards.

Like teh trousers though and lover the top with the trousers.

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:07

thanks, i hope it looks nice !

have a beautiful black pashmina with a beaded fringe and a lovely vintage bag that were both my grandmothers...

not ordered before, hoping it is ok!

not good with sleeveless or halter neck, too mcuh norkage and bingowings!

EffiePerine · 09/10/2008 20:08

am also hourglass (when not pg) and the dress is a very good shape and will look great

twinsetandpearls · 09/10/2008 20:09

I have bought Anna Scholz stuff before and the quality has been goof, I have a big bum and comparatively narrow waist. Quite a few of the outfits I have bought from there people comment on - in a good way.

I recently bought some Caryn Franklin shoes and they were small.

slackrunner · 09/10/2008 20:10

cone heel patent shoes sound perfect

slackrunner · 09/10/2008 20:11

and thick-ish tights good also

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:13

great ! thank you all

i have smallish waist in comparison to the rest of me.

have had an anna scholz black two piece for best part of 7 years and it has worn very well, got it from debenhams, i have worn it for black tie dos and it is very elegant

All three are fantastic - wouldn't wear the top and trousers myself now, but I would have when I was younger. Like the tunic they show with the trousers slightly better, mind you.

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:20

will let you know how it looks when it arrives.. thank you

lulu, that dress is heaven and, along with your description of you, I can picture it beautifully! xxx

I am a trousers girl but lately, along with the slow unveiling of self, I bought two dresses. I feel very gorgeous in both of them (one with summer flop flops, one with winter knee high boots).

You must wear it with shoes that are comfy though........I find shoes get harder to walk on as the night progresses (nothing to do with wine I'm sure, more to do with heat). If you are wobbling or need to take them off, it just makes you look like a dress novice.

The tunic.....its lovely, but its lovely for lunch not an engagement do. IMHO!!!! [style shithead]

frumpygrumpy · 09/10/2008 20:22

simple jewelery because it has a big sash, could do big bangle though........

lulumama · 09/10/2008 20:27

bless you darling frumpy !

glad to hear you are slowly unveiling

am also a style shithead, see threads passim!

lulumama · 10/10/2008 20:34

The dress is lovely and you will look great in it. You look stunning in that green top in your profile pics, could you perhaps find a wrap (and a corsage?) in that colour to finish off the outfit.

Have a lovely time.

harleydarkside · 10/10/2008 20:59

i had to click to find out what a frock was!

lulumama · 14/10/2008 14:33

thank you !!

it arrived today. i have just tried it on. i really like it. it is just the right lenght and feels nice and heavy and swishy

black patent ribbon tie shoes look good with it

am going to try and find , as per swedes advice an emerald green wrap or something to set it off

i have a black feather thingie to wear in my hair and i shall get out my best jewels!

lulumama · 14/10/2008 20:10
