Denim skirt and Boden question

I reeeeally want a denim skirt to wear with boots and tights and flat boots. But I'm tall and all my pre pg ones are either too tight or too short now. So has anyone seen anything longer, sort of a couple of inches above the knee? New look had some in their tall section but my size is sold out. I bought the M and S one that someone linked to in another thread but it was too straight and tight, I want something more A line. Fat face has got one but its not quite what I'm after and quite pricey. So I thought I'll give in and order the Boden one but its out of stock in my size too! Does this mean they won't get more in now? Also not sure if that ones any good anyway as it says its a new straighter shape this year so may not be what I want. Surely it can't be that unusual a thing to want?

Mabanana that is gorgeous. Probably slightly too smart and expensive for me but absolutely lovely. Sigh! Jackieno that skirt may be ok thank you, didn't see any instore but will have a look. I'm going to be really fussy and say I'd like dark denim ideally but that one may well be different in RL as often is the case.

That Toast one is gorgeous. So if you find yourself coming round to the idea of velvet, there's another Red Herring one that you might look at?

Oh that one is lovely too...only problem is I bought brown boots, do you think it would look awfult to wear black with brown? My boots are quite riding boots ish actually so would probably look odd?

I wear black with brown - I dont' care. I just mix it up.

Fat face had a fab denim mini skirt in teh summer - I wanted to buy it then and never got roudn to it and now they don't have it.

I like the skirt short if worn with tights. I don't find 'just above the knee' very flattering.

No I want it sort of mid thigh iyswim. I loved that fat face one and did exactly what you did, waited too long and it was gone!

I'm so annoyed! I found a skirt the perfect length in TK maxx but the 12 was huge! I was so excited when I saw my size too it just didn't fit! Neither did the 8 which was the last size other than that so no good! Typical!

have you tried Peacocks?

I got a great denim skirt there for £10 a few months ago.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 13/10/2008 19:46

V cheap and maybe a bit too straight?

used2bthin · 13/10/2008 19:47

Had another near one with a denim skrt I found in a charity shop, got all excited but they had the wrong size on it. Think I am destined not to wear one!

Fat Face skirt is back in stock in sizes 12 and 14.

used2bthin · 15/10/2008 14:06

Thank you I went back in there toay an was very excited as they had it in store in a twelve but that was too big so have ordered a ten. Which is madness as I am more of a 12-14 but there it is. They were really helpful about it too. Hope it fits. Still prefer tyhe TK maxx one but can't be bothered to keep going in there checking!
