central parting, in a low bun at nape of neck.

look for pics of queen victoria

HTH

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 19:23

Not really long enough for that

Also it's Afro so something with ringlets might be better

hair up (buns etc) was for grwon-ups only - twas a rite of passage at 18 to 'put up your hair' and become a young lady

if she is dressed in child's clothes (dress with white apron type) the easiest thing is a long plait down her back thus with a ribbon unless he is up to ringlets...

or you could do a half-ponytail liek Bobbie in that Railway Chi;ldren pic

if she has short or 'modern' looking hair stick a boater or a mob cap on the back of her head

MrsBadger · 08/10/2008 19:37

victorian schoolgirls

FimboGotAxed · 08/10/2008 19:39

KatyMac is your dd's school going to Great Cressingham nr Watton?

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 19:45

She is going to Gressenhall

He wants a bit more detail to copy

She has ringlets a lot - I was trying for low bunches of ringlets at the back - but it is too short

I have this nightmare too in a couple of weeks. Will watch thread.

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 19:47

She is wearing (I hope - because I am lazy & poor atm)

Black shirt - long sleeves with a bow/tie thingie at the neck - think low key maggie
Black Skirt - don't know yet - I haven't got one for her - any of mine will swamp her
Black/brown bib apron
Brown boots

Maybe??

At least you have put a bit of effort in. I gave up, my dd would never ever fit into a skirt of mine, but then I don't have anything suitable anyway. I have bought her an outfit from Ebay. It includes the mop cap (which she will probably refuse to wear)

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 19:50

What age?

OP posts:
palaver · 08/10/2008 19:51

she's wearing a mop?

I think you mean mob

palaver · 08/10/2008 19:52

(a mop would solve the hair issue though)

FimboGotAxed · 08/10/2008 19:54

I could give her the pail to match as a handbag??

Yes my fingers were going faster than my brain. Mob, mob.

I haven't got the outfit yet, its says its suitable for ages 8-10 (dd is 10 but slim so I reckon it will be fine).

I can lend you it after the 23rd.

palaver · 08/10/2008 19:55

I have just googled mop cap and there are loads - obviously a common mistake

FimboGotAxed · 08/10/2008 19:58

KM got to go.

Let me know if the dates match up for the outfit.

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 20:02

Thanks - we are trying on skirts as we speak - I will let you know if we can't work anything out

Still doesn't help with the hair
