Not tight and tarty or anything, just short, with tights?

Or will all the other parents be a bit ?

I wouldn't bat an eyelid unless you had tree trunk legs, then i might think "urgh"

DrNortherner · 08/10/2008 13:22

Where what you want. Let them be of they want.

Some knob commented on my patterned tighhts last year.....

avenanap · 08/10/2008 13:24

Yes, just don't bend over and make sure you have nice legs. Avoid a low cut top though, you can't do both. No heavy makeup or cheap jewellery, no fish net tights or high heals.

Overmydeadbody · 08/10/2008 13:25

Oh good

I have lovely legs MamaG, and was wearing boots too.

It's just that DS said, as we where leaving the house "don't worry mummy, you don't look silly or anything"

He must have snesed my lack of confidence.

A disgrace!

avenanap · 08/10/2008 13:27

Lol. What a lovely child. I ask ds if I look silly sometimes, he always say's I never look silly and always look lovely. No honesty here then.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 08/10/2008 13:27

Short skirt - fine
Visible knickers - a no-no

Hassled · 08/10/2008 13:28

Short skirts, fine. Gold bikini top with weird tight black leggings (as I saw at school on a rare hot day) = a bit iffy.

avenanap · 08/10/2008 13:29

There's a rule I read somewhere, you can only show a bit of clevage or leg. Not both or you're in danger of looking like a lady of the night.

I'm sure you look lovely.

Overmydeadbody · 08/10/2008 13:30

DS is brutally honest lol

The other day it was freezing, we where out and my lips went a bluey purple colour.

He asked me if I had my lipgloss with me as "I think your lips need glossing". Yes, thnks for that DS.

I sometimes wear short skirts, with tights and flat boots on the school run. I sometimes get a look, and it can make me feel awkward. 9 times out of 10 I'm wearing something most of the other mums wouldn't wear though so I am getting used to it. I like to have my own style.

Overmydeadbody · 08/10/2008 13:30

Thank you avena!

I'm sik of wearing jeans and T-shirt. I do own skirts and dresses but my shoes make my feet hurt.

ds does like to ask me if I'm feeling OK if he notices that I'm pale (I'm pale most of the time. I naturally look like shit).

How short is short? Bend over and show Thursday's laundry short? Above the knee? Boots look really nice with a short skirt.

Anna8888 · 08/10/2008 13:35

If your legs are beautiful, yes. I have seen bare bronzed legs with shorts and knee-high suede boots at school.

Overmydeadbody · 08/10/2008 13:39

short as in halfway up my thighs, bending down would be risky but I wouldn't do that anyway, I would crouch if I had to.

I was just sick of wearing jeans and trousers too and fancied actually making an effort and feeling good for a change.

This sounds OK.

StressedoutGobbledigook · 08/10/2008 13:46

avenanap · 08/10/2008 13:46

I'm not taking the piss. Some might though. I'm naturally helpful.

Overmydeadbody · 08/10/2008 13:48
