unpolished and too long. twiggy is not the grande dame / uber fashionista she thinks. lauren is always super though. isn't she tall!

expatinscotland · 07/10/2008 21:26

I didn't like.

I thought it was very unrealistic.

Gok's better.

FimboGotAxed · 07/10/2008 21:29

Nah.

Wtf was Twiggy wearing?

And that damey at the end with the beret?

Katie was a hoot.

NotAnOtter · 07/10/2008 21:33

i find Twiggy the most un natural model EVER

her eyes never smile

dull dull dull and (ahem) wooden

robinpud · 07/10/2008 21:35

who was the one with the funny flick to her hair at the front?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 07/10/2008 21:36

my sister styles herself on twiggy

FimboGotAxed · 07/10/2008 21:38

Robinpud - the Scottish one?

She is Paula Reed editor of Grazia

bundle · 07/10/2008 21:38

fimbo, she's Irish, I used to work with her sister

bundle · 07/10/2008 21:39

(meant to say, northern irish. and she's style director not editor of grazia)

FimboGotAxed · 07/10/2008 21:42

Oops (I am Scottish ) at least I got the mag right.

bundle · 07/10/2008 21:43

I went to her house once

robinpud · 07/10/2008 21:44

Yes- Paula Reed- strange hair imo

Couldn't get over the scouse wannabeWAG can't decide which was worse before or after..

OP posts:
bundle · 07/10/2008 21:45

fishie · 07/10/2008 22:08

I didn't mind the frocky thing, but preferred the programme after it - it had Mary Portas (and Mary Quant), and Twiggy, oddly enough. And Grazia woman (is she Mary P's partner, or is that someone else?)

robinpud · 07/10/2008 22:14

I thought it was all absolutely staged and that someone just gave them crap outfits outside to wear and then swap.

OP posts:
bundle · 07/10/2008 22:16

also all slim (ish) women - you can wear these clothes if you lose shedloads of weight (like the woman who had the huge jeans/leather jacket cut down to fit her)

fishie · 07/10/2008 22:16

feast or famine for fashion/clothes progs. i couldn't watch any more so didn't see style one.

JackieNo · 07/10/2008 22:17

Yes - nobody above a size 14, I reckon.

I loved some of the bits of film of the Mary Quant designs, and one bit in particular with someone wearing a polo neck, long-ish shorts over coloured tights just looked completely modern.

LetThemEatCake · 07/10/2008 22:19

I thought it was quite fun

but that Livepudlian with the Manolos! Before - argh!!! After- argh!!!

and that hideous Marc Jacobs frock - like one of those dolls that old ladies used to put over the spare bog roll. And there's old Fernie being all magnanimous about giving it away - ha!!!

And I usually looooove Marc Jacobs so am not being price-ist or bitter.

JackieNo · 07/10/2008 22:20

Oh yes - 'a regular on the Liverpool party scene' - I bet she is . I didn't dislike her outfit afterwards, but her hair was dire.

LetThemEatCake · 07/10/2008 22:22

all that money on frocks, and none on a make-up lesson (aren't they free anyway?)

Her outfit afterwards was fine - if you;re an Olsen , ie scrubbed of face, lean of limb and waifish of build. Not if you look like an Amazon or tranny.
