I like my body but have no idea how to dress.

I'm 38, wide shoulders, A-cup boobs, small tummy but not flat like it used to be, wide hips, terrific legs . Slim not thin. Not much of a waist. Short body, long legs.

I wear jeans all the time. I look for narrow at the thigh, wide-bottomed jeans to balance out the hips and v-necks or round necks to split up the shoulders.

I see all the advertisements for skirts and would love to wear them but know nothing about fashion and I don't want to dress like a 17-year-old!

Also, to balance out hips, could I wear narrow jeans with boots?

Any Trinnys or Susannahs out there? thank you in advance.

I am a very similar shape to you but have C cup.
I wear skirts quite a lot - something like this with boots and a v neck sweater.
I also wear casual trousers or cords just to make a change from jeans.
Not sure if these things are hugely fashionable though!

i dotn see why you cant wear jeans with boots
do you mean skinny jeans and knee length boots?
if you are worried about wide shoulders and narrow legs then wear somehting that elongates the upper part of your body, even something simple like a long string of beads, sleeveless shirt, waistcoat, can do that

as for skirts there are hundreds in the shops just now
a lot woudl be great with knee lenght boots too
or opaque tights and shoes

You would probably suit a lot of the folky type dresses around atm with opaque tights and boots. Zara, French Connection etc do a lot of them.

when was the last time you had a proper bra fitting?

I mean in small specialist shop, not M&S

I wear dark skinny jeans with riding-style black boots and it looks good and is practical/warm for my life (I walk a lot).

If you are small breasted, polo neck tops with tunics over are great, and again warm and cosy for winter.

sorry I can't write more but am at work

a good place to start is to go to the Littlewoods website and do the Trinny & Susanna 'find your shape' thing

lingle · 06/10/2008 12:58

ooh thank you. Will go to the Littlewoods site asap!

forgot to add that A-line is a complete and utter disaster. Skirts need to go in at the thighs - don't ask me why.
