Thinking it's finally time for a new watch, and before I go shopping, thought I'd canvas here for ideas.

Would love to see practical and extravagant suggestions. Links would be helpful too.

Blimey you lot all have expensive watches. I have one like this but with a black strap. Though I covet Anna888's Hermes double tour one.

hifi · 06/10/2008 16:46

i have thispascha

santos
tag

rislip · 06/10/2008 16:48

Oh I have the Longines salmon pink face one, it's gorgeous and I wear it every day.
I'd love the cartier one with the diamonds down each side. I'm hoping for my 40th b'day dh will suprise me... i have a long wish list.

LadyOfWaffle · 06/10/2008 16:49

I have a £12 watch from New Look and DH wants to get me a Rolex Oyster or something but I know I will lose it, or break it. As long as something is on my wrist that will tell me the time of day I am not fussed.

LadyOfWaffle · 06/10/2008 16:51

Weeteeny - you sounds like DH! He is watch obsessed. He has wittled it down to one rolex and 2 omegas now though but is eyeing them up all the time

onceinalifetime · 06/10/2008 16:54

I have a rubber Alessi one - £65 and indestructible. Given a blank cheque I would like a black Tag Monaco or Ikepod.

Quattrocento · 06/10/2008 16:56

I have a Cartier Santos here that I love for workaday days.

Inherited an omega, but can't find a link to it. Don't like it much.

The watch I covet is this patek philippe in white gold

The trouble is if I sell the Omega to buy the Patek Philippe, I would still have to sell my house to make up the difference ...

Quattrocento · 06/10/2008 17:02

Oh the PP link didn't work - I was linking to a model called the Gondolo which is an art deco piece. here it is

mamakim · 06/10/2008 17:03

this is mine, wedding gift from my husbnad

mummyplonk · 06/10/2008 17:06

Have a Raymond Weil "Parsifal", still love it as much today as 10 years ago.

postLady · 06/10/2008 18:10

this is my favourite and i wear it more or less everyday - i wouldn't mindthis one next time dh treats me!

Earlybird · 06/10/2008 19:04

I think this one is very nice:

My DP surprised me with this Tag Heuer after we'd had a serious fall out. I was too scared to wear it for a bit but now I love it.

MarshaBrady · 06/10/2008 19:47

Max Bill Automatic from SCP.
It is a beautiful German made men's watch. big round face and black strap.

And I love it.

DeJaVous · 06/10/2008 19:47

This is mine. I've had it a couple of years and still like it a lot, turns out it's got a ridiculous name though: Tissot t-tonneau. FFS. I thought nappies had the lead on that one, but it seems not.

Loving the watch porn

slayerette · 06/10/2008 20:01

This is mine

I love Storm watches.

CherryChapstick · 06/10/2008 20:04

this is mine
I love it, if it breaks I will have another the same. My last watch was one of these.
Practical and flashy.

I have this and have had it for 10 years and love it.

I bought DP this as a dress watch and she loves it.

Not everyone's cup of tea and this was pre credit crunch (And DD)

i have a gorgeous raymond weill stainless steel watch with a mother of pearl face and swarovski crystals. it was a christmas bonus when i worked for virgin, or else i never would have afforded a £600 watch. i daren;t wear it every day.

Bloodystumperlicious · 06/10/2008 21:02

I don't have a watch atm, can't afford a new one and really need one. I would love this one but only if I win the lottery!

Actually, tell a lie, I have this one (though didn't pay that much, got it on ebay) that I had for my wedding day, but it's too delicate for everyday, and needs a new battery.

Fimbo · 06/10/2008 21:05

I have the same Armani one as NDP except mine has a brown leather strap, not a bracelet.
