In honour of Cod's annoying titles thread

My dad has given me some money to buy new clothes. I would like to buy new jeans, preferably from Next/somewhere on the high street as I've got cash so can't online shop. I'm 5 foot and a bit overweight, with most excess weight on my belly and sides. I need petite jeans. I've been wearing baggy jeans, but I don't think they suit me and make my legs look shorter. So what shape should I go for? Budget about £40.

i am the same as you, 5ft nothing and carrying a bit of babyweight! still in maternity jeans from topshop (they are so very very comfy!!!!)

Don't have any suggestions but will watch thread closely!!!!

Marks and Spencers.

They do a wide variety and all in different lengths (and generous sizing, always a bonus!).

I usually end up with jeans from there due to my short legs.

I've recently bought 2 pairs. 1 wide leg flarey type ones which sit right on your waist. Alleluiah!!!! At last, something other than the low rise/muffin top experience. They look very cool('on trend', very flattering for your tummy, and I've had loads of complimets, and poele are alwys suprised they are from MandS.

I've also bought some dark denim boot leg ones which are a great fit.

I think they were £35.

You probably need to go to a big Mand S though where they'll have all thier ranges.

Thanks for that Szyslak, will go to the big M and S near me and have a look. I like to look a bit 'trendy' but comfortable as well because I pretty much live in them. The ones you got sound nice.

Wow this thread title really is putting people off Anyone else seen jeans which would suit a shorty?

Grammaticus · 05/10/2008 22:18

Sorry I'm a longy, but M and S do seem to have a massive range

Loshad · 05/10/2008 22:27

I got some high rise ones from next recently, if they don't have them in store they'll often get them brought round within a few hours.

Is that an advert, Louise0709? Because you have to pay for those you know. Have looked at your other posts and there all adverts which is against the rules.

New Look do tons of different jeans - I have found the perfect jeans there! Great prices too so you can have lots.

charchargabor · 05/10/2008 22:39

Ooooh hadn't thought of New Look, will go there too. Might be a bit cheaper than the Next ones. Cheaper jeans = spare money for extras

I'm also a shortie, but M&S jeans don't suit my shape. I prefer River Island, they do shorter length and lots of styles. Levis are also good, and some Next, although I don't like them so much this season!

paddingtonbear1 · 05/10/2008 23:06

New Look can be good too, I have a pair from there!

charchargabor · 05/10/2008 23:08

Didn't think of River Island, will have a look there too. I find the Next ones have become longer over the last few years, so still drag on the floor and rips which really annoys me. I looked on Next website and wasn't that impressed with the ones I saw anyway. Feeling I'll be in town for some time
