So how do you get nice shiny healthy looking curly hair?

I have naturally wavy hair which never seems to wave in quite the right direction. So, I have two choices to make it look presentable: straighten it out, or use a diffuser to make it more curly.

I like it straight, because then it looks glossy and healthy. Every time I get it curly though it just goes into messy frizz - even using serum. If I then take a brush to it, all the curls go and I get back to random waviness.

So how do you get that nice glossy defined curls look? Is there a way of combing it through without eradicating the curls? Am I just using the wrong products?

I never ever let anyone touch my hair when it is dry or it will frizz. It is very very curly, corkscrew curls.
I wash every morning with frizz ease shampoo and conditioner, then comb with a wide tooth comb after squeezing, not rubbing, with towel. Then add frizz ease mousse, leave to dry naturally, just a quick run thru with fingers after about 20 mins then I am done.
Trouble is in this cold weather hair is still damp when I go out which makes me cold.
If I don't have time to wash it then i spary with water and add a bit more mousse.

I use one of the Phyto range creams (Phyto 9; I tried to link but the website is v annoying with trilling birdsong).
On the days I don't wash it, I wet it in the shower quite thoroughly, rub some of the cream onto it, comb through with wide-toothed comb, and it curls well.

exact same hair here. must wash in morning or looks lanky (excpet rare occasions). i brush it with wide comb when wet, use hair product. used to use firzz ease but it dried out my hair long term as many of the products, especially thsoe with silicon do. sometimes use bumble and bumble leave in conditioner, keep trying new ones
