Cleaning winter boots

I have just ordered a pair of the boots the model on the right is wearing here.
How do I clean this type of mat finish leather?
Are Next own boots any good? I've never had anything other than sandals from their shoes /boots range before.

You need a cleaner restorer cream.
This will nourish the leather and keep them looking good.
You also could do with a water resistant spray so that you dont get water marks on the leather.

Thanks

My dh has some kind of leather cream/wax stuff he uses on his leather biker jacket, is that the kind of restorer you mean? Can't think what it's called now though and am work so can't look. Would worry that it would leave them shiny and I like the matt look.

Water resistant spray would be essential as we live on a bridle way - full of puddles! would this finish actually be more trouble than it's worth if likely to get splashed a lot?

i use Saddle Soap. you can find it in any cobbler's shop or even a tack shop.

i use it on the landlord's leather couch, too.

works a treat. comes in a green canister.

That's a good idea, thanks. And it doesn't make the leather shiny?

No they should be ok so long as you spray them well, and if they get really wet just make sure you dry them well.
