OK, so we went with Califrau and boycotted Clarks for ds1's school shoes and guess what?

.....he has peeled the front off his brand new NEXT school shoes!

Now, ds1(6y) is not a naughty boy. He is quiet and well behaved and not a rough and tumble sort of boy.....but his shoes are wrecked!!! and they cannot be worn!

There is no way that this would have happened with Clarks shoes. There is nothing to peel.

What can I do? Am not particularly cross with ds as they scuffed and looked crap after 2 days at school and he doesnt play football or anything so this was just normal wear and tear.

I still have the NEXT receipt - dare I take them back?? £17 down the drain

I know what you mean about 'peeled' - DD has done it to the (thankfully hideous) shoes that her grandma bought her.

I am wondering if they are not real leather as surely it shouldn't do that? Its like the black layer has peeled off leaving a grey layer underneath with rough flaky edges that peel more if she fiddles with them.

Hmmm we had clarks shoes those dolly anoyying ones - dd age 6 came home limping on friday and a big blister sore on her foot, the sole had fell into the cavity which had collapsd - the lady in clarks (well young child) said oh i will swap them as is common - the newer ones are fine though....... wtf? Needless to say i suspect this be the last clarks shoes we have.
