I'm a fatty, can I wear a pencil skirt without looking twonkish?

It's black and white 'tartan' with a ruffle/waterfall at the back. As it's pencil I will probably need the 20 (normally an 18) but don't think pencil looks good if tight in any way.

That pattern is the problem, not the style.

no i think maybe the style is unless you are very hourglass shaped. The skirt will be too wide at the knees surely

afaik 'regular' size in this country is a 16 - alot depends on height and build wrt the size you are healthy at. Just my opinion of course.

Maybe. But the pattern makes that much much worse. It does seem to be a very extremely hip-exagerating style. I remember pencil skirts as being much less hipped somehow.

Pencil looks good on curvy IMo but stick to black and NO ruffles.

the vents on this one bit more forgiving than normal pencil skirt but still give you the right shape. nice fitted shirt and heels and you'd look lovely im sure.
