I want something plum...

I really fancy something plum coloured to wear. I'm sure it said on a program I was watching the other day this colour is in this season but I can't find anything in the shops that colour (I live in a small town).

I wouldn't mind ordering from the internet or could go to Newcastle one day to find something.

Not really sure what I want. Maybe a few things like a cardigan, a fine knit top, a flattering top with 3 quater length sleeves that flares out over my flabby belly, a dress with sleeves for everyday wear that sits just below the knee etc etc all these are options.

I am a size 14-16 at the mo, large ish bust, 5ft 6 and blond hair.

Would also consider deep purple colours and lighter plum colours that are more pinky. Oh, and the cheaper the better!

Help!

tights!I bought a pair in zara for 8 pounds and i have worn them loads.I bought them thinking what will i wear with these and they seem to make all my old stuff look more 'now'.

Dalrymps · 30/09/2008 16:24

Ooh thats a good idea actually. I am a fan of exciting tights. Would have t get myself a few skirts or a nice dress though as i've grown too fat for all the ones i've got

Maybe sleeves too short, but lovely.
If only it had sleeves

JackieNo · 30/09/2008 17:31

Sorry - first link was this cardigan
Or a plain and classic v-neck jumper

OllieWollieWoo · 30/09/2008 17:54

Weird re Debenhams website- its a Betty Jackson plum jersey v neck dress - will try again!

here

JackieNo · 30/09/2008 17:55

I can see it - looks fab.

Dalrymps · 30/09/2008 18:51

joliejolie - Lovely cardigan, I always live in them in winter.

JackieNo - I love the dorothy perkins purple dress! Gonna see if my local store has that one

I don't really mind no sleeves, arms are ok, am just a bit of a fan of the 3 quarter length ones.

I have a few v neck jumpers but feel they cling to my belly at the mo

Ollie - Love that dress too.

Still looking for more vibrant colours though. Would like something in quite a zingy, bright plum.
As you can all probably tell this is quite hard to find as a lot of the things seem to be purple at the mo. I do like purple too though.

Principles have this dress - more of a raspberry than a plum, from the pic - is that the sort of colour you mean?

Dalrymps · 30/09/2008 19:12

Yes! I love that colour. I love the dress too but out of my price range.
