I had set my heart on this (ignore weird fetishy photo - in the Oli brochure it was shown with a gorgeous black fitted jacket and looked stunning), but was too slow and it's sold out.

Where else should I look for something truly glamorous? Preferably online - I love clothes but hate shopping ...

PS It doesn't have to be prom dress style (I'm generally more keen on 'sheath' style dresses actually) - or indeed have anything in common with the dress I linked to

what size are you? I have a Karen Millen dress in a 12 that I am about to list on ebay! It's prom style... black, with silver ribbon appliqued.. can post a pic if you want.. retailed for £140 or so and have only worn once

franch · 29/09/2008 22:09

Size 8 I'm afraid - your dress sounds lovely. Karen M had slipped my mind for some reason - will have a look - thanks

try the All Saints website, they have some great dresses.

franch · 29/09/2008 22:12

I quite like this - I'm not normally a strapless dress girl (nothing to hold them up), but this comes with straps and a shawl apparently so possible I guess

loads and loads of Karen M on ebay, often new with tags. Not sure why, people in the warehouse must nick it or summat.

Anyway, might be better than paying ££££!! Karen M is fairly exxy for a HS store, I think.

Ooh - will do pg, thanks

Ooh, I know someone who has that VW dress and it looks AMAZING on, especially if you're a skinny thing Franch.

pgwithnumber3 · 29/09/2008 22:28

Can you tell I am looking for a killer dress for when I have shed baby weight?!

franch · 29/09/2008 22:36

Westwood dress is nice pg - I wonder if these shoes would clash or match?! Not that I'd be able to afford that hefty total!

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 30/09/2008 09:05

Those shoes would go lovely franch, but if you loved the dress and could afford it with a cheaper shoe try Aldo - for example these would go nicely. A lot cheaper as well!

pgwithnumber3 · 30/09/2008 09:08

Sorry, wrong ones! The colour of the dress was different to how I remembered it last night! It is one of those dresses that you would have to buy and then take out shopping with you to match the shoes up. These ones would probably be a better match but still not exactly what would go really well.

lovelysongbirdanotheryearolder · 30/09/2008 10:56

HAVE you tried coast?

franch · 10/10/2008 11:08

Hmm, still don't think I've found that dream dress ...

OP posts:
franch · 10/10/2008 13:13

Amazing on a slim, norkless person?

JackieNo · 10/10/2008 13:24

OMG - amazing dress though maybe too eveningy, and you might moult everywhere.

JackieNo · 10/10/2008 13:31

Not so fitted.
thistle design
High neck?
Interesting (also comes in black). I notice those last 3 are designers who used to be at All Saints.
