Football boots/football trainers - what's the difference?

DD (nearly 5) has just started weekly football classes and is having a great time.

She's been playing in her ordinary trainers but we thought we'd get her some football boots for her birthday. I've just been looking online to get an idea of prices, and it seems you can choose from football boots or football trainers.

What's the difference? Does it matter which she has?

Thanks! (I know nothing about footy and neither does DH! )

boots are for grass ( with proper studs) and football trainers usually for astro turf - or so my footy mad ds1 8 tells me. Hope that helps.

Thank you! It's grass for us, so my dilemma is solved!
