help me find a winter coat for 3yo ds1 that DOESN'T have the michelin-man effect

the last two winters he's had one of these polartec fleece duffle coats

i may end up getting yet another, but thought i would ask and see if anyone has spotted a warm coat that is light and comfortable, but def not a padded quilted affair that means their arms are permanently stuck at a 90 degree angle from the body

h & m had a nice green one the other day, but they aren't online. grrr. ds has this from boden. i think it's a bit dull, but he chose it & is delighted (age 6.5).

NOt sure how warm this one is. Might work?

ds2 has this duffle coat. very cosy and not michelin mannish at all.

macherie · 28/09/2008 16:36

This arrived the other day for ds2. It's very lightweight but feels toasty. He chose the camoflage pattern - yuck, but it's his coat!

yes, like the boden one

anyone have a recent code? yesterday i binned a catalogue - really don't want to have to rummage through the bins to find it

Just bought DS1 (also 3) a decent coat from H&M. Was £25, dark grey/blue, fairly thick and looks pretty good, well I think so anyway. Not sure it will be warm enough if its a very cold winter but it's deffo not michelin man style.
