Oh will maybe look through again and order somethign. Did think that the kew dresses seemed a bit shapeless. Would suit someone else but NOT me.

I rather liked their necklaces too.

i've done it.
went to exeter this afternoon and got beautiful brown wool trousers from hobbs. the fit was amazing.
then got a purple silk shirt to wear under a brown v-neck skinny sweater. the sweater can fold up to 3/4 length to show the shirt cuffs and the shirt is slightly longer than the sweater.
i already have brown heeled hushpuppies.

it wasn't cheap.
but i love them.
have convinced myself it is a career investment, as if i look and feel confident i'll be on a decent salary in no time.

i have some lovely jewellery that will be fine. but will need to think about a bag. may be able to borrow from a friend, as my best bag is blue.

kids off the CM's and i'm hitting the books tomorrow.

thanks for all your advice.

well done, that sounds lovely. hobbs stuff is great and you really will get good use out of the outfit - not just this interview but afterwards as you shimmy your way up the ladder.
good luck, tell us how you get on!

Dragonbutter · 25/09/2008 21:03

yes, will definitely get use out of the stuff. am already thinking how i can work my new wool trousers into an evening with the girls.

i told DH that Hobbs is a bit like primark

overthemill · 25/09/2008 21:07

well that's true enough. Like Primark but for grown ups with more money...

you will get use out of it. I had a pair that I got out for every conceivable occasion and loved them - realy value per wear/ you now need a fab jacket/cardy to waer with them for casual trips - 1st pay packet?

Dragonbutter · 25/09/2008 21:13

i promised DH a sea-kayak. kind of a deal we made when i gave up work.

Update

I got the job!!!!!!!!

Totally down to my clothes I'm sure.
Had to give a presentation while i had a horrendous cold and lost my voice. So thankfully i looked good.

Thanks for the tip llareggub and fishie: the receptionist commented on my purple bag, said she loved the colour!

Thanks to everyone who gave advice.

Eek, so pleased
