And I only wear makeup for going out really (occasionally get up early enough to do it for work but that's rare) so my Bobbi Brown stuff has lasted for literally years (!) Definitely worth the extra ££.

Hassled · 23/09/2008 21:19

Megglevache this is great. There's also a good eye lightener.

moondog · 23/09/2008 21:20

sHE RECKONED YOU START WITH
face tonic
intensive skin supp
hydrating eye cream and
face base.

I just got latter.

Then eye brightener
tinted moisturiser
warm natural powder

creme blusher

lipstick and lipliner

bone/blonde/copper sand eye shadows together or
navajo/grey/heather mauve

(Bone is pARTIC. lovely all over lid)

sepia or granite gel eye liner

Also some brushes/

no smudge mascara (so kind! No clumping!)

norkmaiden · 23/09/2008 21:21

cheers MD, sounds good!

now, what about BB for people who currently wear NO makeup (but who reckons they probably should!)

lovelysongbird · 23/09/2008 21:23

170 quid what will i get for that?

do they do a mineral powder foudation?
i don't really wear much make up, most days none.

thanks Hassled.

May pop into a store soon. My make up bag is seriously knackered.

I was just interested in disguising these bags/circles.

moondog · 23/09/2008 21:33

I don't really wear much make up or very often but she assured me that lot could be done in 10 mins and she is right!

if i end up looking like a clown im going to kill you moondog.

moondog · 23/09/2008 21:47

Honestly it is sooo not clownish. i hate that painted look. Here is BB herself It's that sort of polished but understated look.

EffiePerine · 23/09/2008 21:54

the BB foundation is well worth the money and the concealer actually conceals

lovelysongbird · 23/09/2008 21:55

oh yes moondog i like that "polished but understated look."

Megglevache · 24/09/2008 16:26

Gosh she looks fantastic and utterly not airbrushed.

Polgara2 · 24/09/2008 16:52

Moondog - did you make an appointment in Browns or just toodle in? They always look a bit scary to me.

moondog · 24/09/2008 23:01

Pol, I had a day to get myself sorted out in many departments, so went straight up to the one i thought had the best make up and said 'INeed help' and explained predicamnet.

(I get impression they are delighted to do it. Standing around must be bloody boring, lets face it)

Megglevache · 25/09/2008 14:12

How long does it take you MD?

Funny you should say that Cod.

My brothers GF works on BB counter and she is always saying their colours are boring too.

She prefered the company she was with before.

She gave me a BB gift set for my bb with a lipgloss, eye shadow and blusher in a lovely little bag. I use the lipgloss alot although I do find it a bit too sticky, and I use the blusher every day.

IllegallyBrunette · 25/09/2008 14:21

for my birthday that should say

Megglevache · 25/09/2008 14:23

I'd love to use bright colours but I end up looking like Lily savage/Matt Lucas (I'm a Laydee) when the MAC ladies come anywhere need me.

finknottle · 25/09/2008 14:30

I got some Barbara Daly eyeshadows while in the UK in the summer, Designer Eyes I think. A brown, a green & a grey, they have 3 shades in each. Never wore eyeshadow in the daytime before but these are v good & have had compliments Don't feel overdone panto-style.
V good value.
Ditto the mascaras
And nail polish
Better than more expensive stuff I've had tbh.

moondog · 25/09/2008 16:48

How long did what take me MV?
The whole day or the make up session?
Latter talk about 30 mins from start to walking away.

Megglevache · 25/09/2008 19:57

I was wondering how long it takes you to put it on in the morning and be happy with it. The make overs I assume are quite leisurely

moondog · 25/09/2008 22:17

10-15 mins.
I have to get myself, a 4 year old and a 7 year old up and out by 8:15 (dh abroad) so if I can do it,anyone can!
