Expat, I'm beginning to think you are me!!!! I too love No.7 Protect & Perfect, can't wear Chanel Vitalumiere AND also love Tesco Darling lipcolour. Just out of interest, are you quite sallow with reddish-brown hair & green eyes?? Were we separated at birth???

expatinscotland · 22/09/2008 19:35

well, i have naturally very dark brown hair that is about 50% grey but blended in with L'Oreal highlighting kit, i have pale skin but it is quite yellow/olive in undertone and Vitalumiere is not for my combination skin.

Another vote for Clinique Black Honey. But I very rarely wear lipstick and when I do, I tend to eat it within about 3 minutes of putting it on. Any tips for dealing with this problem?!

maidamess · 22/09/2008 19:46

No 7 do a lip thing you put on before lipstick/gloss which def makes it last longer.

my fave lipstick is No 7 Chic . I am Irish colouring brunette with blue eyes. if anyones interested.

Gingerbear · 22/09/2008 19:51

clinique lipgloss sheer petal or sheer natural. I need something with a bit of va voom for autumn to go with new sparkly olive eyeshadow and khaki eyeliner.

Am reddish blonde, blue/green eyes and fair skinned. I fancy something plummy but not too dark (otherwise look like a drag queen)

NoblesseOblige · 22/09/2008 19:54

smahbox raspberry - looks like a pat butcher type shade in the tube but dead natural and pinky on. also like body shop juicy tube-alikes

NoblesseOblige · 22/09/2008 19:55

would love a RED if anyone has a good'un? am brunette with dark eyes and leftover tan...

2loudboys · 22/09/2008 20:49

Expat, of course I meant 'warm-toned & golden' not 'sallow'.

expatinscotland · 22/09/2008 20:50

oh, no, i say yellow or olive undertones all the way, 2loud!

Ronaldinhio · 22/09/2008 22:04

that new queen of lipstick in plum gloss
v nice
am blond pale skinned with freckles and blue eyes

ZacharyQuack · 23/09/2008 00:57

Revlon mineral lipgloss in Plum, feels like a gloss but lasts for ages.

expatinscotland · 23/09/2008 19:43

NO, a great red for brunettes is Chanel in Scarlet.

lou33 · 23/09/2008 19:44

woodenchair · 23/09/2008 20:13

Hi cod that mac shade looks great would it suit a medium skin with blonde hi lites and hazel eyes, cos usually I find plum lippy can be a bit too dark for me.

Pleased with mac went there last month for a red lippy thought I was too old for reds as skin as aged a bit but they were really helpful matched me too a sheer red glossy shade looks good.

I also bought the prep and prime for lips very good to use before any lippy. It won't erase my lines but makes sure lippy looks good on an aging face.

woodenchair · 23/09/2008 20:38

I do ta. it's like a boujour colour they did about 20 years ago called brun intense. i bought 3 of them up and have been looking for something similar since.

fishie · 23/09/2008 20:40

i look best in deep pink. i need a bluish hue but have rather yellowy teeth so cannot wear anything properly dark at all, no plums or red for me

lovelysongbird · 23/09/2008 20:57

cod are you a glamour puss?

largeginandtonic · 24/09/2008 14:31

Yes she is, v glam.

Needed new flip flops though...

Bridie3 · 24/09/2008 14:33

I thought we were boycotting MAC in response to their snootiness re. MN reviews?

I love plums but they might be too dark on me. (Fair.) Perhaps at night.

NoblesseOblige · 24/09/2008 15:53

cheers expat, will be wandering to the shops this weekend (and will have been paid !) so will have a look...

boots...lippy...mn v bad for the pocket ! but then a lovely mn-er has also provided me with a 30% off gap link as well so it all good

i actually went in to buy the shade in In Style Best Beauty Buys.

got hold of some Xmas money and thought, 'I'm so having that!'

but Chanel person said that shade, whatever it was, wasn't good for brunettes with olive or yellow undertones and tried it on me. she was right!

the Scarlet is much, much better. my skin is fair, but olive in undertone. dark hair and eyes, too.

Rolf · 24/09/2008 17:47

Benefit First Class. It doesn't stay on long though - I am very drooly.

My friend stopped wearing Black Honey when her DH thought it made her look as though she'd been licking her bottom
